Is it just me or are the turn controls very bad? Instead of turning 90 degrees with A/D I'm randomly turning 180s. Turning is free so this doesn't impact gameplay, but it makes navigation a lot more frustrating than it should be.
Ok, it looks like my key presses were too heavy, or something. Needed to half-press to do 90 degree turns. Maybe a longer delay is needed.
After exploring all 4 maps, the walking starts feeling very tedious. May need to increase default speed or make that a setting.
Slime tiles suck. Getting stuck for 3 turns is very annoying, especially if it's near a dead end that means you have to walk over it twice. I know the float potion exists, but it's fairly rare and not a real solution. I'm thinking this is a problem with all status effects. You don't gain tension when waiting, so something like winning a fight with 8+ Blind/Slime/etc means you have to sit there and Wait several turns for the effect to expire. Maybe if there are no enemies detected, you automatically clear them in 2 turns.
There's also something a little frustrating where if an enemy chases you and you can't kill them, you eventually lose because you can never outrun them. It's probably okay to have some enemies do that, but not all (but one) of them.
Overall I like this a lot. I enjoyed LL, and this is looking to be a big upgrade.
