Mixed feelings on this.
On one end, I'm laughing at how pointless the poll was in the first place and wonder if their supporters who voted are pissed off.
On the other end, more devs need to just do what they want over what fans want.
On the third end, to hell with this game cause no more Best Bonnie.

My feelings are about the same.
Looking at the discord, it seems like the dev intended the poll moreso to gauge the community's opinion, not to make the actual decision. That wasn't how the poll was framed, but that's ultimately the correct way to handle that - it's a poor idea to leave big design decisions like that up to a poll, and potentially lose the intended direction of the game.
But at the same time, the Cally3d models were the one thing this game had that kept my interest over other FNAF porn games, so I'm very sad. x(

This isn't the first (or worst) time I've seen people ignore poll results that they asked for when it didn't go the way they wanted. I'll never forget a community thing where organizers tried to push for a certain change to happen but the community made it clear they weren't interested and the polls CLEARLY stated as such. They literally tried the damn poll FOUR TIMES OVER to try and get the result they wanted but kept failing. (They also quietly banned folks from their main group online if they dared criticize the idea and the motivations behind it and would delete any critical comments.)

They then decided to be sneaky about it, deciding to lie and claim that their idea got the most votes overall after trying a more "private" style of voting but refused to show the supposed results of the final poll unlike the past publicly available ones. In summary: their bullshit initially succeeded but eventually backfired and failed and everyone quietly moved on and decided to forget about the whole thing.

Fun fact - Start a new game and the version stated on the screen switch from 0.3 to 0.4

The real question that baffles me: Why does the player character have cat ears, nipple piercings and stockings on? Is that night guard uniform?

I think the 2nd reason is a fair enough one for changing the models, if they're hard to pose well then that can be a dealbreaker when animations are so important, but the 1st and 3rd reasons are really silly. What's the point of switching to creepier models if all the sex appeal is lost in the process, and why should one other game using these models matter? Especially when there are way more games using the other style of animatronics.

For reference, here are the pics they included in the discord for what the "disembowell-esque" models and "unique" models would look like. Neither are as bad as the earlier disembowell pic I posted, but the Cally3d models are still leagues ahead of both of them.

The biggest issue is that all the wall poster and assets are made for the good looking models. Dropping the models now means removing all this and redoing from scratch the entire ambiance of the club. Which is a pain in the ass and a lot of efforts to replace sexy models for models that make you bleed from the eyes.

I believe that they put this poll expecting ppl to say : 'no, keep your nice models'! But since ppl are assholes, they go for the : 'no, redo all from scratch so that we see the ugly shit that all others FNAF do because that's the (dying) trend!'

If they ignore that poll and keep going, then to me it means they have a head on their shoulders and are worth giving money to on Patreon. You don't want to invest in something where the dev/design team just put everything in the trash at each polls and are redoing the project again and again until the team vanish.

When I wrote that, I was not aware of everything posted after the quoted comment and did not do any research about the origins of said polls. I still abide to the the feeling that dropping current models destroy everythings. Now that I know the team was the source of the poll and tainted it : "No money from me" is how it goes. I wish them success...

Before they even mentioned doing a poll, they already stated that they would no longer be using the Cally3D models because they wanted "more robotic-looking" models to fit their horror-porn vision. So even without the poll, they would not be using the Cally3D models, unfortunately.

Don't take it too hard, people here are always subjective on their opinions. However, I think as a dev you should understand the consequences of drastically changing the games visuals since visuals are one of the main things that draw in players to begin with.

Though yeah, should probably clear things up in this forum if you want to. Though if you don't want to listen to a bunch of freeloaders thats also perfectly valid.

I personally LOVE Cally3D models, but if this NSFW problems are generataed because of them, maybie they are not compatible with the kind of game he wants to achieve. I think people commplain too much because they see changes as ruining the game.
Im pretty sure they will make something awesome and memorable. Just give it time.

That said, Ive seen few free roam NSFW games, and I stil never seen something "bad" and they always have a public, or end up having it.

The "unique" models he's apparently going to go with aren't all that bad, but the lips on every character other than Foxy are just awful. Dunno if this is a minority opinion but full, prominent lips on furry characters just don't work. You can get away with a lower lip for some species but putting an upper lip at the tip of a muzzle looks horrendous, and on a beak it looks even worse. Maybe the animations will be good enough to make up for it but pretty sad such ugly models are what he decided on despite what people voted for.

On another note, the game could use some work in terms of clarity and sound design. I can't find the generators anywhere so I can't get past the first night, and the animatronics' walking/running is way too loud, it's really annoying hearing them walk anywhere near you and when you get chased it's borderline ear rape.

Like it, not LOVE IT, I would like more thicc because of fetishes. But looks good, more human like. Sometimes human resembled dolls are really hot.

Just be carefull what you say about your game and above all of polls. People will not see that as a think tank or probing for suggestions, but like a binding contract. Many great game developpers fall down that rabbit hole (No Man's Sky come to mind. Check it out on the Internet Historian YouTube channel, it will bring back a smile on your face). It's a common mistake (Be glad! At least we, the common assholes, are more gentle than game 'journalists'). You are not the first and will not be the last. Misconceptions like that happens all the time.

Now, since you seems to be a decent guys that I misjudged, I will go to Patreon and subscribe for a while.
