There isn't even anything new other than lighting and performance guys, calm your cocks and actually read the update before beginning the desperate link begging train

What's new?

Global lighting
The sun has been added to the game and caves are now darker!

All textures have been updated and now have a normal map to properly represent light falloff.

Bonfires and torches
Bonfires and torches now emit a real warm light.

Essence Shadows
A shadow is now cast from all entities (Yoki, wolf, snowman, etc).

Post Effects
Bloom - all bright objects have an additional glow.

Lens Flare - bright objects are reflected on the camera with a chromatic aberration effect.

! What's New?

Green Slime
A new hostile mob that shoots clots of slime. This is the last hostile mob for the first level.

More NSFW
NSFW scene with green slime. The scene has a reference to one famous fairy tale.

Fall damage
All mobs now take damage from falling from a great height. Snowdrifts and tree crowns save from this damage.

Backgrounds update
New multilayer background for levels with parallax effect. Also made corrections for the menu background.

The background of the levels captures the atmosphere of the floating islands in Tail Valley from book The Dance of Nine Flames (at the time of publishing this post, the English translation is not complete).

Okay, I like this game but I feel like it's being entirely sabotaged by bad game feel and no juice.

The main contributor to the lack of juice is the total lack of sfx at all. Even half-assed sfx would help (not totally shitty ones, but it doesn't have to be perfect). I don't care if they're temporary or anything, just add sound. Total silence is not fun to listen to.
In the Patreon 0.6.6 release it says they added music and ambient wind but sfx are unmentioned.

There's also control problems between wasd and arrow keys. You can't dodge roll or grab ladders mid-air with arrow keys for some reason.
I didn't initially realize this and thought both of these things were either broken or non-existent. Not fun.

Then there's the almost total lack of in-air options. You can move left and right, and shoot a fireball, but that's it. You can't guard, dodge, slash, or even control your jump height. You can shoot a fireball I guess, which might I add, removes all of your velocity.
The fireball cancelling all velocity can be used to cancel fall damage. Cool tech, but useless in this environment. I only used it when combining it with the jump bug as it puts you on the edge of taking fall damage on the way down.

Ignoring most moves stopping you on the spot, The fireball and dodge roll have it especially bad. As said, the fireball stops you midair, but when grounded it has this really gross feeling wind up animation before firing. Then the dodge roll has a different problem entirely, one you use it you are stuck in it. You can't jump out, or slow it by holding the opposing direction.
Loss of control is bad. Really bad. You want the player to feel in control. Commitment to actions is alright (ahem FromSoftware), yet it comes off as bad and janky design in this case. Especially with the fireball and dodge roll.

My main point with my critique is that the game definitely needs more responsiveness, sfxs to accentuate actions, better and tighter controls and options to keep the player able to act how they expect, to make the act of simply moving and attacking to feel fun. These are core parts of any platformer, you should make sure these elements aren't garbage or the whole game feels cheaper.
funny note: if you spam the jump button fast enough whilst near the ground you can stack the jumps and be sent flying unlike the normally limp jump. It lets you get in really funny spots where the dev didn't expect to need collision. You can also jump over that dumbass invisible barrier at the end. There's a little more past it.

This is just stuff I'd consider for making a good platformer. I friggin hate half assed platformers, don't neglect movement or control. It can make it feel awful.

Needs a tutorial badly as the only way to know what you're suppose to do is the game's download page. even then I don't see any lily flowers to pick up, only an invisible wall next to a "soon" sign so I can only assume this is an early concept demo

also the keyboard mapping is wierd. if you want wasd movement, the actions can't also be on the left side (unless you're trying to make a one handed game.... for obvious reasons) sure you made arrow keys available except arrow keys don't interact with ladders so it's pointless.

I will say the graphics are nice and it looks good, just please give players some directions or at least make it more clear what stage of development this game is.
