Yes, it will be in the side quest. So it will depend on the player's choice.
The quest will be implemented on version 0.0.3.
The quest will be absolutely optional and not mandatory for the story to progress(so you can avoid it if you want).

Did the problem occur when you start a new game or when you load a save file?
I played version 0.0.1 a couple of times again today to see the problem but couldn't exactly pinpoint the failed-to-load problem.
Does the problem occur in a specific map, location, or dialogue?

Sorry for the inconvenience, but you could delete the game and download it again.
I've used the Mega link to download it and it worked fine.
I'm sorry that I can't fix the problem.

I'm receiving the same issue as VBoat, but I suspected it was because of my... alternative method of playing the game.

I'm on a Mac so I unzipped the rar with the Unarchiver app and then I played the game by loading the folder in Visual Studio Code and running a live server.

So I wouldn't be surprised if it's a problem out of your control.
