I am going to be more respectful than you by saying this. If the dev. specifically provides clear expectations, YES, the community should hold them to those expectations. YES, you should stop supporting them. If they start talking about another project before the project that you are supporting is even half done, YES, you should stop supporting them. Clear indications that the dev. is only trying to milk money from the community are as follows:And sadly thinking they owe you something just becaue you support them is also Toxic.
There is accountability you just stop supporting them.
I have fortunately only ever stopped support on 2 Dev's and that because.
People that believe the owned the Dev with the support they paid.
Coerced, Browbeat Convinced and paid extra to the Dev's to change the games focus to their wants.
Which resulted in the Dev's seeming to lose interest and updates getting shorter and taking longer to make.
And the story quality taking a severe nose dive.
- New project announced before current project close to completion (Pet peeve of mine)
- Consistent failure to meet deadlines when expectations clearly defined by the dev. (Multiple projects I have supported where the community requested that the dev. literally add extra time to their dev cycle so that they can actually meet a deadline, yet still fails)
- Lack of communication
I want to be very clear. If I am supporting a dev. I am owed what the dev. specifically promises me. If the dev states, "I will deliver the game within 2 years". Then yes, they owe me that game within 2 years. There is context that matters here. It all depends on the dev. and what they specifically promise. You can say, they all lie and just donate what you want but....what the fuck? So, we hold none of them accountable?
Also, please bro, use google translate before you come here and post in an English only community. It's hard to take someone seriously when their English sounds like they never left kindergarten.
