Yes, I can replicate this. Working on a fix now.

Upd: Error occures only when I try to play with lower textbox mode.

In your game folder, replace the "script.rpy" file with this one.

If you're on Mac, you'll have to wait until I release a full hotfix version.

July 6 Development Log: Post-Update & Lyricist Character Poll Results

The update went well. Thanks to all those who offered constructive feedback.

The poll on character design was more evenly divided than I expected. Adding up across Discord and Patreon, the votes were almost 50/50.

The biggest difference seemed to occur when I mentioned that the character is supposed to be rebellious and slightly unhinged. So even though most people found Character A had a prettier face, it was Character B who looked crazier. They also preferred B's body.

So, where does that leave me?

To merge the best of both worlds: use the pretty features of Character A's face, while using B's body and keeping enough of her crazy look. She's a tertiary character, so it's not essential that the audience loves her, but if she's MC's first sexual conquest, why not make her nice to look at?



Admittedly, I was biased towards Character B. Not because she's more attractive per se, but because she fits the personality better, and looks different than the other girls. Character A has a more sharp-edged Eastern European look (which is the most common beauty standard in Western society), while B has a rounder, more youthful Anglo-Saxon face. I tried to make the result a hybrid of the two.

Call me an idiot or a troll, but MC has really weird body proportions. He's too grotesque in comparison to the rest of the characters.

you could still use the other two models some place else to be fair. further down the story. they are both great looking characters. I had the same problem when I morphed a li for my game. had to go through 9 versions till I ended up in two and I couldnt deside. so I aged one a bit and made them mother and daughter. besides, good models remain in the library.
the mix you created looks great to be fair. maybe a bit too thin on the waist ( between thorax and hips).

now this may sound dumb but, now I see them all three side by side, I think a major factor for previous B and the new one in contrast to A, the detail that gives that desired "attitude" look, is I think the hair. it gives them a more, "rebel" look. if I make any sense. sorry my english aint the best.

The hair definitely plays a role. What I personally found when adjusting the models is that the biggest factor was the skin texture. The blush on the cheeks of Character A gives her a more innocent, pretty look.

The next big factor was that on Character B, the heavy eyelids and the large skull relative to her narrow jawline gave her a more sickly look, which is probably why someone called her schizophrenic, ha!

And on B and the new character, when brows slope down like this .\ /. it contributes to a "resting bitch face" energy.

There's definitely a lot that plays a role, and tons of trial and error. Funny that you mention nine versions -- this form of Gabriella is on the eighth version, and she was originally intended to be Reagan!
