Lol. Yea that's a choice you make. But you actually tried it, and decided "Nah, not for me" - which is totally fine btw. I am 100% ok with someone trying it out and then going "Yea, I don't like it" or "Not really what I'm looking for" or whatever.

I'm more curious about the motivations behind just saying "Yea I won't even waste time trying it at all". Like what motivates someone to make that decision about a game? That's what I'm really curious about.
You're game is in 3-d which puts it in a precarious position. I won't play a 3-d game with dated graphics generally. Some concessions are made if it's for instance has an style over realism or if the gameplay is so good the reviewers are circle jerking about how fun the gameplay loop is or the story is great, but that won't work if the art looks like a Microsoft 3d paint drawing. I don't think I'm alone on this either. if you look through the threads you'll find thousands of people asking for the best art games with less asking for good gameplay and less asking for good story. Out of all the older porn games I've played most are drawings because they age better... some better than others, but my point stands and I looked at your game and decided to not try it out because its has a small number of updates, none of the woman have stand out design, I've played games that look just like it, but that could be ignored if the art amazing (for porn). For example "The treasure of Nadia" I thought the story was boring, the gameplay nonexistent and the characters were dull, but the art made it an instant download.
TLDR: For porn games nothing brings more people to play a game than a large variety of great sex scenes.

Add incest, loli/shota, milf, rape and NTR and you'll be fine.

No lesbian sex, no Ava.

Cock does absolutely nothing for me so if there is no clam slamming, there is no point downloading.

There are far more lesbian games being released now so I can be picky about what I download. Unless something really catches my eye or has tags that interest me i'll move along.

Yup, yes, absolutely, best advice ever! :ROFLMAO:

Let's not confuse the dev even more! ;)
Not new there, these are the most popular fetishes. They are practically ubiquitous these days.

Gotta get the completely incendiary topic in there to stoke the fires right away!

So, I've been curious about something for a while, and I figured I'd just ask! (Note: I'm using my game as an example and a highlight but this can be expanded to almost any game really).

Some people are looking for something specific... maybe they're into incest, or futa, or furries, or NTR - my game has none of that, so obviously those people wouldn't be interested. But what if you're not someone looking for a specific niche?

Let's say you're someone who isn't looking for anything specific, just in general. You're browsing games, you see mine, and you go "Nah, no thanks, I'll pass."

You're not passing on it because it's a shit game (You might hate it and think it's shit if you played it, or you might enjoy it, but obviously you never got that far so you don't know if it's any good or not), but something about it made you decide it wasn't worth your time.

My question is, why? Or put in a much broader sense, what about a game (Where we assume the content isn't a disqualifier) would make you think it isn't worth your time? Is it the title? The reviews? The screenshots? The description? Are you going through the comments in the threads?

And to pose a somewhat related question, think of a game you tried out that you did not like - maybe the content you weren't a fan of, or maybe you thought it was shit, or maybe you even thought it was good but just "Not for you". What made you try it in the first place?

I'm posing this question for 3 reasons really: #1 to find out what I can do to improve the overall presentation of my game. #2 as a broader question for devs in general, to find out what players look for in a games presentation, #3 because I'm just overall curious to see what sort of things interest people, what turns them away, etc. #4 I'm a little bored at the moment, and I didn't feel like shitposting today.
Well for me (assuming that your game isn't disqualified by the tags that I exclude)

First: I look at is the thumbnail and pictures from the game. If I see artwork that doesn't appeal, I move on without giving it a second glance. Certain art styles do not appeal to me. Also udders(huge oversized tits)where breasts should be is an instant hard pass whether or not its tagged.

Second: I read the intro. It may not be fair but if the English is bad then I may or may not pass depending on how bad it is. (English is my only language sadly) and if the story doesn't appeal by the time I have finished the description then its also a pass(certain stories will almost always get a pass but that's just personal preference there)

Third: (and this may be exclusive to me) Size of the game may be a dis-qualifier because of how awful my internet is. a 4 gig game can take(depending on when I try to download it) upwards of 8 hours. So it REALLY has to catch my interest for me to download it.
These would be the reasons for me to pass on a game. Hope that helps.

Now, taking a more general approach like the above posts, I may evade a game if:
  • Is lesbian focused. No dicks, no game. I can even try a straight game if the male MC is attractive and gets enough camera time. But lesbian sex does nothing for me. If its gay focused, at least I'm gonna see the thread and tags to see what it is about.
  • Tags that are an instant skip: Loli/shota (I hate it when I see loli games with attractive male MCs), scat. Other tags? I may tolerate them if they are avoidable.
  • Have serious bugs that makes the game unplayable
  • The MC is another skinny guy/invisible/female MC. For fucks sake, put some effort on the MC! most gay games do this, but in straight games this is ignored.
  • Extremely boring mechanics, or a story on a VN that doesn't hook me after 30 minutes.
  • This is more a personal preference, but twinks/femboys/women do nothing for me. I may ignore this if the MC is hot enough though.

I really don't think Loli, NTR or rape are actually "popular", I would assume many more hate these things than there are people who like it. Especially NTR is a surefire way to ruin your game and to start endless flame wars. Make NTR only games or make games without it. Trying to appeal to both the pro and anti NTR crowd is like juggling with chainsaws. Good luck with that :D Ok, rape may be even more hated than NTR. Don't touch that with a 10 foot pole if you want to have somewhat broader appeal.

Oh, I'm trying to satisfy an audience of one, and that's it. My goal has always been to make the story I want to make, full stop.
So then why do you care if I play your game? What is the point of this thread?

If you are making this game for yourself, then carry on and who gives a fuck what anyone else thinks.

Judging by your posts in this thread though, you clearly WANT an audience, and you WANT people to play your game. If you want an audience that plays your game, you will have to be willing to make concessions, you will have to be willing to make a game that other people want to play.

Anyway, I don't have anything more to add about your actual game than what has already been said: boring, safe, unoriginal. A game has to stand out in some way or anotehr to make me play it. Whether that be nice renders, interesting gameplay, engaging story, unique premise, etc... Your game has none of these.

Ok, I've downloaded your game and checked it out while I was eating.

I think you're good as most things look fine. It could use a bit more drama and whatnot but maybe you're a bit unlucky as competing against thousands of other games is not easy. Your game is still in the early stages thus fewer people will check it out.

4 updates and the 5th one coming in up within a year's time is really good. It could help to have smaller more frequent updates to get those views/plays in.

I've played your game and here are my thoughts, mostly on the technical aspects though.
Things that can be improved and I'll apologize for being a bit blunt...

just my taste, but i've always found the 3dcg(?) visuals super jarring, the story/animations could be good, but I would probably overlook it cause of the models. This probably isn't helpful and it's very likely that im just a weeb/ like the softer/anime looking designs.

I clicked on the game and the second I saw it, I knew it wasnt for me. (its not you its me)
I hate 3d/3dcg...renders...whatever you want to call it (I prefer the drawn style/anime style)
I also tend to stick to femdom/futa/gay/lesb/monstergirl, idk all the weird fun stuff so yeah.

I am simply not your audience, and it has nothing to do with the quality of your work its competitive out there so getting noticed its probably pretty difficult but I do wish you the best of luck!

Edit: I recall you saying somthing about html games with 10 mins of content vs your game with hour of content so I wanted to add to this
I also enjoy html games (if they have tags I like) because visuals dont get in the way, I can use my imagination
so I am personally more likely to try a new html game with very little content over a game with 3d renders.

I think its about finding your target audience
also dont forget to report your thread with "game update" everytime you update <.< the more you can popup on the 'latest updates' the more likely people will see your game!

I do like the banner above better, but my main issue is the overview just doesn't "sale" the game for me. I'm fine with the tags, art, and size of the game but there's no spark to make me go "I got to download this game now". Even the title throws me off a bit because I thought at first it was about oversexed teens camping about to be murdered or they're all marooned on a deserted island (and about to be murdered).

After seeing this thread i went to the latest updates and searched for it, since i chose what i play by that site, i didn't try it because it is not my prefered combination of kinks and the visuals aren't so good that i'll try it anyway. Yes my first impression and decision whether i try something or not comes from the latest updates page.

I thought fine, if he really wants to know i'll try it and see what it is about...

The visuals: You need to learn how to pose better and also how to make animations more fluid. Your lighting also needs work, most of the time it is too dark and/or looks flat. Yes i know it might sound harsh, but its not meant to offend you in any way, i know lighting, animations and posing in general are the most difficult things to do in DAZ if you really want to make it look good. But all of that can be learned if you really want to.

The story: Well its your story, i'm not going to tell you to change anything about it because it is your game.

What i didn't like: The interactions with the phone, but thats probably just me, it annoys me in every game. The extra confirmation to take a shower is unnecessary, let the man take his shower if he wants to, there is no need for me to tell him to do so.

Now my guess why most people don't play your game is that it is missing the most favourite tags, harem and incest, the visuals don't wow players and mini games are a turn off for a lot of people, even if you can skip them when you might lose out because of that. The overview might also need some work, don't know how many people chose a game by that because i don't give a fuck about it, but it seems a bit uninteresting.

Now none of what i've wrote is meant to shit on your work in any way, i just mentioned some things that stood out for me. Don't let it discourage you, try to improve and keep improving and most importantly be patient.

To answer your question honestly : because I never heard of it.
Even on your banner signature I had to use a magnifying glass to see the link.

My opinion is automatically biased now that I am looking for an explanation, but I’ll try to be as objective as possible.

Having looked at your F95 presentation page, I can’t say I am hooked.

- The first line is a red alert for me : you describe yourself your characters as mere caricatures, resumed their personalities by a single word or expression. To be fair 99% of games are like that, but they try to hide it...
- Second paragraph, so from what I get it’s another “slice of life” story, with normal people, having normal problems, doing normal chores etc. I am not interested in this.
- Tags/genre : nothing special to say. It seems rather vanilla, but it’s not a problem for me. But not especially interesting either.
- Changelog : 4th iteration, equal little to none content.
- Picures : Looks decent. Clean, not exagerated, some clothes look like plastic but it’s not bad at all. BUT. 1 BJ scene, 1 solo female masturbation (with a phone, *sigh*…), aaaaaaand that’s it. So it pretty much confirms me that there is nothing to see at the moment. And the thug pic is repulsive to me. I've see it to often in to many films and games. I am the only human being that has never had a gun pointed at my face ? Am I the only one not living in a place that is ruled by some kind of mafia or mob gang ?

So in the end, I’d say I’m simply not interested in it. Can’t say that the story interests me, nor that I feel that the pictures could excite me. Maybe some day I’ll give it a try, but after seeing it, I can’t say that I am curious about it.

I’m sorry, honestly, I don’t want to be an ass. I am only giving you my rough thoughts from what I saw on your page. I’m not saying that it’s the real content.

Maybe your game is a hidden gem, maybe I’d love it. I wish you the best for your project and you have my respect for having produced something. But if your description does not do justice to your work, maybe you should reconsider the way you promote it to better reflect its content.

Cheers, and nice work !
