As an absolutely unbiased person I just want to say - you did a right thing promoting Tegan to a mail LI  :p

Seriously though, I think if we talk only about looks - the 2 girls that left very strong impression on me personally were Rachel and Tegan. In fact I kinda find Rachel even a bit hotter.

As for personalities - I loved how you wrote Tegan's dialogues and her character in general, I think eventually a combination of her look and attitude made her my #1, she is definitely my type of girl.

Can't say much about Rachel, cause beside having introduction with her in a bottle game and brief meeting on a party don't remember much, and usually I try not to get attached to a girl with whom we can't get the ending.

I'm definitely gonna stick around) Games with high repla- ability and multiple monogamous routes are right up my alley.
Even if I'm not into some girls romantically - I'm still gonna play their routes, if only just to unfold their stories.
But I can't disgaree with you though. ;):p

now thinking about installing the game again)
Hahaha, Tegan's ass is very mesmerizing isn't it? :p

In the dev log earlier this week I mentioned I wanted to wait to do a couple chapter 3 previews for more variety. I've changed my mind. I'll give you a quick look at what I've been working on. Here's 3 little previews of Ava. Nothing special.

And if you want a fun little look behind the curtain at the joys of DAZ rendering, one of those images took over 10 hours! I used the term 'fun' loosely, here.

"Nothing special." I disagree with that. Ava and the MC keep eye fucking each other every time they see each other, there is clearly an attraction between them. We know almost nothing about her right now but I do look forward to finding out more about her, she is beautiful.
I do appreciate all of the effort that you put into giving the renders that extra touch, it does make a big difference and will hopefully pay off for you in the long run. It will no doubt take time but If you stick with this game, keep doing what you are doing, I can see Not Going Back doing well once word gets out and people see your commitment to the project.

Honestly I like this game enough im gonna mention this more often than others when I reply to post on reddit when appropriate. I mentioned this to someone I know that plays AVN's sadly he couldn't get into it he thought the LI were bland and boring and he didn't even given Ch 2 a try :( I don't understand how but clearly not his cup of tea. I just hope he is the miniority cause this is a amazing game I can see it being a top 5 or 10 game for me after more updates.

We have barely scratched the surface of getting to know the LI's yet, the game is still early in development. So to call them bland and boring especially after only playing the first chapter is ridiculous, sounds about right though given the attention spans of most people these days. They want no build up or character introduction, just straight to the action.

While I agree that some players come here for fuckfests, it's not necessarily a reason for everybody to drop the game.
A lot of reasons for this, - some don't like the setting, or the story, or characters etc.

I for once dropped at least few games that other people consider their top-3, top-5, simply because some storylines/twists, characters were not my cup of tea.
I dropped even the one that both you and Dessolos have in your SIG :D

Just to be clear, the story comes first to me, any lewd without proper build-up doesn't do it to me, unless it's done in a way that looks somewhat natural.

As for this game - I would say that Cicada balanced it well, story/lewds, regardless of what are you looking for in a game - you will find it here.

Well not every AVN is going to suit everyone and that's fine. There's quite a few AVN's that are considered to be top tier by others that I've tried and while I appreciate them and the effort gone into them, I've struggled to get into them personally.
Summer's Gone, Eternum, WVM to name a few that I personally have struggled with for different reasons that I wont get into here.

yeah I put characters and my personal enjoyment before story. So that's a big part of why I love this game so much tbh and why I am able to play some games that others consider bad or I just don't like or feel the story but I ended up loving a character or 2 alot. I think out of the 120ish games ive played Ive dropped like 2-3 games max lol.

There you have it. Well said. Best argument on why any dev should completely ignore 'feedback' like that and only pay attention to the constructive stuff that points out the good and the bad aspects of their games so they know what's already good and what they should focus more on improving.

While I agree that some players come here for fuckfests, it's not necessarily a reason for everybody to drop the game.
Which is ridiculous if we think about it for a sec, cuz every damn game that respects its name, whether it's a simple chill game or a AAA one, always had a story (be it good or bad), character development, build-up and all that to get the player's attention and money. Jumping straight into the sexual stuff without any of those sounds completely ridiculous and it's like going to escorts to find romance or a wife lol.

Anyone who wants a quick fap can do that to any of the (probably) billions (!!) of porn vids on the internet, not to fictional porn, so if they still bother to tell other ppl one or more games they played ain't worth their time, they should at least give a detailed actual review on why they think that. Anything sounding like the usual "game's not good for you cuz I don't like it" isn't exactly a review or something that should be taken seriously.

Here's 3 little previews of Ava. Nothing special.
Looking good, but I for one hope the MC can slut it up a few times with girls like Lucy and Mariah too.;)

Yeah, I stopped playing quite a few games for different reasons, which are considered Top Tier in many ratings, and some I doubt I will ever play.

As for sexual content - again wholeheartedly agree, lewds without proper relation build-up mean nothing to me, it's not even a reason why I play these games for in the 1st place.
In fact in some cases it can even ruin a character for me. Though it depends on different factor: on the game setting (for example it's somewhat expected for school-setting game), does it look natural or not, does it fit character personality or not etc.

On this note I think Cicada made an amazing job with Not going back, it's a story focused game with erotic elements, it's balanced pretty well and all lewds are natural, they don't come out of a blue (well I only had 2 lewds on my playthrough - so talking about them mostly).
And of course - Tegan

P.S. I also dropped Intertwined for personal reasons heh

100% agree.
Nowadays I only support a few Devs on Patreon - due to a lot of bulshit some Developers did in the past that made me very cautious when it comes to trusting them, so lately I prefer buying games on steam.

But one of the main Dev traits for me in order to trust him/her - is having own clear vision of the game and sticking to it (Dev with guts to put it bluntly), while it's good to get feedback from players to have the whole picture in general, it shouldn't interfere with the main plans on the game.
Also, in my humble opinion, any so called "constructive" feedback is subjective from whichever angle you look at it.

I witnessed too many games turning into mess and even being abandoned eventually because creators didn't have their vision and instead tried to cater the most loud/persistent audience, unfortunately.

It seems a interesting game to play but before downloading or not, I need to know if this game has harem path, since I only play games with harem path.

Not harem, solo routes only. From the Dev:

"There will be opportunities to pursue multiple girls at the same time (and there are also side characters that will have scenes) but at some point you will be given the option to commit to a single girl to continue that path/story. You can do this or not. There will be an option for an 'alone' ending. There is no full harem or multiple girl endings."

Thanks for the kind words. Of course I was happy seeing new people pick the game up when I released ch2, but I won't pretend I don't get a little frustrated at times that the game doesn't seem to draw much intrigue from other places. I've received positive comments etc. on itch and, particularly, from you guys here, but of course I hope for more traction elsewhere, too. But, realistically, that's on me. Like you say, I'm going to keep at it, hopefully get ch3 out in a reasonable timeframe and then maybe some extra people will see I'm committed and serious about this shit and word will spread further, more people might give the game a chance.

But even just seeing those of you who've regularly posted in this thread since ch2 dropped (and those who were around before who had interesting comments) and reading what people have to say is one of the best things about making this game. But, like anyone I suppose, once you've got a little bit of something, it's natural to want more. Especially when you're creating something you, realistically, want a whole bunch of people to read. Hopefully like you say word will spread eventually, but until then I'm just going to work as hard as I reasonably can for those of you who are here already.

Hmm, yeah, I'd say your hope may be rewarded at some point

Have you thought about setting up a Patreon page? This can be a good way for people to support you and your games development going forward.
It can also be a good way to ask for opinions from your supporters on things in game that you may be torn about or to gauge interest in a certain thing. Like everything else it will take time to get going, but I think you may be surprised at how much Patreon support you may get after a year or so. I know that you've said before that money isn't your primary motivation but I think that many people would want to reward your hard work.

I know that you've said before that money isn't your primary motivation but I think that many people would want to reward your hard work.
So I've mentioned this before but I initially planned to launch a patreon with the release of ch2. However, because it ended up taking over a year to make, I didn't feel justified in essentially asking for financial support when I couldn't promise any sort of consistent release schedule, or, really, promise anything in return. For instance, some devs will do custom requests or 4K images for whatever tier, which isn't something I'd do because it'd take away from the time I can spend making the renders for the actual game. Most devs seem to do a staggered release, with higher tiers getting the game earlier, which is also something I've no interest in. The updates are always going to be free, and I'm not fond of paywalling anything. The way I look at things is that once the update's ready, everyone can get it. This may be a backwards way of thinking, but giving people a finished update two weeks earlier for paying more doesn't feel like a reward; more so it feels like you're punishing those who pay less by making them wait, even though the update is completely ready. This is something I know I'm probably in the wrong on, but I digress. So I didn't exactly have much to offer people subscribing to a patreon.

That said, I'd still want to launch one in the future, currently looking at doing so with the release of ch3. But that'll still only be if I feel comfortable with the idea of people financially supporting the game.

Put simply, I guess, I don't feel like the work I've put in so far would justify people giving me money for it. One release after one year? Morally, that doesn't sit right with me. In a similar vein to why I didn't immediately start out with a patreon. I was someone who had no previous experience on another game or fan renders or anything like that throwing a first chapter out there. Why should I immediately ask people to support a patreon? It just doesn't seem justifiable to me.

It's a good point about being able to ask a community about things. I've done that here a couple of times and received feedback on how to proceed (the value of including animations, whether to spend time on making character screens etc.), so that community aspect of things is appealing. But also there's not a lot I'm really torn about with the game either, really. It's not like I'd be doing polls on future content or characters like I see some devs do. Because I know what's going to happen. I always find it weird when devs who say they're making a story-focused game poll their audience on things that seem directly linked to the story or character development. I feel like you should have all that shit mapped out long before even starting.

As you say, the patreon would probably be a slow starter anyway, particularly given people value consistent, timely releases above most else when supporting a dev, and I just can't guarantee that. But hopefully if ch3 gets done in a reasonable timeframe I'll launch a patreon then, and people can at least know what to expect because then they'd have multiple releases and dev cycles to gauge whether it's worth it or not. And then the patreon could build from there on a solid foundation of three good chapters (I hope).

I'm not trying to talk shit on devs who do or have done any of these things I've mentioned, it's worth saying. It's their business model, and if people want to give them money that's great, because it means more people will make more games. And, while some will be pretty bad and baffling as to how they make as much money as they do, plenty others will be legitimately great games that deserve the support so that the devs can see out their vision, whatever that may be.

(that ended up being a significantly longer reply than I thought it'd be. apologies. i have a bad habit of talking a lot/overexplaining in some of these replies)
