One of the most annoying things, at least with free bots like Spicychat and Kindroid, is that even though they start out as preset characters, they can often forget who they are or even sometimes their gender, the surroundings, etc.

yeah spicychat is okay and can very easily be gaslit into doing whatever the user wants but every conversation feels the same after a bit and it often confuses its own character with the user

Because their memory is literally limited to their token limit. 4k tokens are about 8k words. The 8k words includes all their code and personality descriptions, scenario descriptions, and then whatever is left over is used to parse through the most recent chat history. As you can tell, the bots don't have actual memory. In general, it will flow more or less ok, since the chat history is like a moving window of relevant information, but things will inevitably get lost the most complex and the longer you try to drag out a scenario.

Imagine you have no long or even short term memory. You are trying to have a conversation with someone. You have a message log that only shows you the last 5 things you two have said to each other at any given moment. You have to try and figure out the context of your conversation and come up with a response that seems plausible. That's how the AI talks to you.

So just wanted to come back to this and say that SpicyChat is pretty great. Its probably the best one I've used so far. Lots of cool characters and scenarios with varying degrees of quality. Thanks to Princess Groundhog for the recommendation!

I like taking these chat scenarios in extreme directions just for fun and the ones I've played with handled it pretty well all things considered. Pushing the limits on some of them or talking them too much does seem to break the AI personality somewhat, but I've found a few characters that are very fleshed out & stay in character pretty much no matter what I say or do to them.

Recently found Spicy Chat! Been loving it and doing some very naughty rp scenes. Would love to know your fav characters and what you've been rping.

Tried spicy char and the queue system was a pain tried some others and they didnt pull me in. Found nsfwgpt.ai and was pulled in straight away, enough that i started my own VN because of it.

I tried using LM Studio to run a chatbot on my own computer and it worked pretty well. I used a recent mistral 7B variant that fits on my graphics card and it was really good compared to the last time I tried something similar. Although the chatbot needs some herding here and there and redoing some outputs when it makes mistakes, you can have it act like a narrator for whatever scenario you have in mind. It tries to be ethical but it's not actually censored and once you get the ball rolling it goes along with whatever you want. You can also edit it's output if you want to have more control on the scenario or to correct mistakes.

As long as you can fit the whole model on your graphics card's VRAM, it generates text real fast, and that model's output quality is really not bad compared to what I had been using online. Not comparable to ChatGPT but useable.

) seems to be out of beta, not sure when this update happened, but it looks different and seems to have a much softer filter. You still can't do X-rated RPs, but you can get away with very very hard-R things. Including the word "orgasm" so pretty much anything goes, provided you phrase things in a more mild manner. Had a lot a fun!

JanitorAI is the best free one I've found to be honest. Very descriptive, lots of characters, decent enough chat memory (with features you can use to make it last longer), no queues, and it's totally free without message limits or anything.

It uses Llama 2 and gives a lot of flexibility in character customization, reminders for the A.I., iterative summaries, etc. With some coaching, it's not hard to get a really long roleplay going. Thinking of turning a couple of my longer ones into novellas, if I can ever get to a satisfactory ending.

*For "easy" characters, use the "Unknown" pre-made character. You can give it a description and it will generate a character for you...lazy ass.*

Kindroid is still the best chatbot for sexting, the only downside is the msg limit. Before it had a 50 free messages to use, now it's only 15.

Been testing JanitorAI after almost paying for spicychat to test our 8K context. Glad I haven't as JAnitorAI -FOR FREE- has memory, personas and 9K CONTEXT!

I am liking it so far but you have to find the good bots from the bad ones. Spicychat still has the best amount and quality of bots.

Is there anything else like it?
