yeah but you have to be mindful with the dates for release. The game is free forever, but it comes first to the patrons, the $1 tier gets the game 2 days earlier, the 50 1 week earlier for example.
My poor 5$ sub, im gonna have to wait 2 or 3 days after release...time to meditate and retain them few days
Man honestly, we dont want to force anyone to pay more or anything like that, we are super grateful for everyone that wants to support. This release date is more to follow what the other pages are doing. This is obly our 3rd update so we are still figuring out how to do rewards properly.
In the end it is your game do what ya wanna do, even if you prolonged public releases it will get leaked so I think best approach is 5$ for release (its not too high for even small fans to pay for) and maybe 10$ for previews for people who are big fans. Think having voting power is nice for some fans and different tiers get higher value for votes. It also makes the fans feel more engaged with the game as well and kinda cool to see what you vote for get added.
Totally agree with you. That’s exactly why I recommend keeping an accessible price for everyone. I’ve seen games in beta get leaked, and of course you have every right to set whatever price you want for your game, but if a leak happens because the price was too high or the early access period was extended for days or weeks, that’s exactly what we all want to avoid.
thats, remind me what happened with living with tsunade, some dude got really mad a the dev for something not specified and dude just started leaking every update day 1, and i already saw some cases like this one.
Same with Life after victory, dev made it super expensive for first release and you have to input your patreon / subscribestar username to play. Leaked and username bypassed lol. Gooners are gonna goon no matter what.
I agree can't make everyone happy. I think we were kinda just getting at there's a good balance somewhere where price is affordable for most but also can have benefits for them vs too high and takes too long to get to the lower or public tiers then gooners get hateful xD
dude this is very hard to do D: we don't wanna be greedy as fuck, and we don't want to make the supporters feel that they support is for nothing since the game is free. However, considering we have this page for like 7 months now I think, we'll be polishing everything here and there until it's at least acceptable to everyone
Yep, its a balancing act thats for sure! I really can't speak on what works and what doesn't. From what I can see though it takes a long time to really build up a fan base. Mainly because its hard to advertise. I am sure there are many golden gems out there right now that most people won't even see because its just hidden away. All H-Games I know ironically I find out about here and if I really like it I sub to their page

To be honest, given how long the delay has been, I really hope this isn’t the same strategy some devs use—dragging out releases just to extend subscriptions.
