Love to see the attribution of market forces to the woke phantom menace. There's a very simple explanation: game devs need to make money. In order to make money they can't make overly niche games which means making games that will hit as broad an audience as possible. Is there an audience for more overtly consensual maledom games? Yes. However, that demographic, depending on the personal inclinations, will likely still buy one or more of vanilla games with some maledom aspects or NTR games with solid corruption or darker non-con/rape maledom games. So by making one of these games instead you can grab a slice of that demographic and an entire other demographic to market to.wdym they've been woke for a long time... Haven't you noticed how especially in western games the aggressive male in nonrape or ntr games have slowly been phased out? Majority of the time its the woman initiating sex and controlling sex and rarely the male. Even in a few so called maledom games... the male isn't all that dominate
Unfortunately, it's not some shadowy over-caffeinated mob controlling the industry. It's just "good" business to cast as wide a net as possible and to do that you will inevitably leave the majority feeling pretty "meh" as a whole. But what else are they gonna buy when no one is willing to gamble on a product that specializes to a more focused fetish?
