This would be the case in many ntr games without female pov if male mcs weren't idiots. At first I despised braindead cucks but the dumbest ones made some really hot ntr possible.
I'm not saying male mcs have to be idiots nor that the one in this game is one (canonically) but super realistic ntr game would be pretty limited in comparison unless there is a female pov.
I am aware that some people enjoy full blown mystery ntr but I personally find it boring just like I would find this game boring without socials, nanobots etc. As you said.

You remember the post where Nosy tells us to switch interventions from Sam and Richard because there will be consequences? The new post just tell us that also apply to MC interventions and there will be also consequences if you abuse of your own interventions too. You will have to switch between the three to get the true lovers ending.
Except this has been confirmed by Nosy himself a countless of times on patreon. MC see everything with full censorship.
No need for a connection with Matt--Richard knows that the nanos are messing Liz up and he's trying to know more about this (when MC and Richard almost caught Matt and Liz in a bar in 0.18 or 0.19, it wasn't an accident, despite what Liz thought at the time--the place was chosen by Richard, who didn't know in advance where they were going because he was waiting for Liz to move, as he's probably watching her as best he can to see the extent of the damage, and probably try and undo what he can, is anything).
That was in 0.20. It is even the first outing between Richard and MC that we see ingame.

that is an out-of-story reason though, not an in-story reason. otoh, one in-story reason why the MC follows Matt's page is because of Richard since the MC tends to be open to what Richard gives to the MC. (same goes for why the MC followed the exhibitionist and city sluts page).
it does make one think though: why would a person who wants to see sexy pics still follow matt's page if everything is fully blurred? is it for them to be "enticed enough" get them to buy a subscription to get the uncensored pics?
He isn't really certain of that. according to one of the askitshareit pages, he is led to this speculation due to the Liz's location and how she wasn't with the MC in that one scene. as of now, Richard doesn't have "beyond reasonable doubt" proof of Liz cheating.

I belive it is middle blurry so the people will be interested in buying.. If you blurred. Everything no one will be interested. Nosy also do public release if you remember. No one will. Play the game if there is no free sample.. I subscribe to the game for. Almost 6 months or more because I play the sample. First.
