No, on the other hand if the MC that is supposed to be witht he girl is an asshole then i personally don't consider that ntr, there are works like that where the husband is an ass but honestly if the guy deserves it that is not ntr for me.
Agreed. Not that the others haven't already done a good job explaining what the genre is, but I'm also going to throw my two cents at it. The element of unfairness is fundamental to the definition of NTR. While it doesn't completly break away with genre, I too consider the attempt to make the affair a payback by the wife as diluting the strenght of game/story.
Going further, and maybe more subjectively, I think this should be extended as to include other ways this may happen besides the "asshole husband" situation.
Again, my humble opnion, but games with stories where there is a biological issue(husband has a small peepee or can't impregnate wife) help make the act too much in the realm of "reasonable" or "justifiable". I also find games with stories that scrutinize too much the husband's/boyfriend's psychological profile(looking at you Hero Party Must Fail), giving them serious intimacy or social issues help softening the outrageousness of the affair.
Trying to summarize all that I said, NTR games should always aim at making you feel "he doesn't deserve this", rather than "he deserves this" or "this is to be expected".

Porn is about fantasies, especially porn games . The reason for making and playing these games is to be able to experience mental fantasies and situations that cannot be experienced in the real world or the chance of it happening is very low.
If we are looking for reason and logic, we should not come to these games at all.
I agree that the logic and reality of a story can make the game more interesting, but sometimes the logic of the story and the characters can make many of the events that are supposed to be seen in the game impossible.

NGOD-200 seems to be the most interesting NTR Jav coming from the studio Jet Eizou this year and it'll be published 12/12/2023.

Uh.....first of all, most people here are not brainwashed about that stuff. We recognize jp ntr isnt based in reality. Dont treat us like we're kids with these nonesensical explanations.
We play these games as a means of escape. In the end, it's just pure fiction. If you're always so focused on realism and strong immersion, then stay on that side. I can't believe I'm actually writing this. Because of the ongoing debate of what NTR genre is I've decided to describe my point of view.
NTR comes from japanese word 寝取られ (netorare) with 2 subgenres: 寝取り (netori) and 寝取らせ (netorase).
2 kanjis are presented here:
1) 寝る -> "to sleep" which has (as in english) literal and figurative meanings. Here is used figurative meaning: to have sex.
2) 取る -> "to take" which, if we look at word netorare, is written in passive voice 取られる (torareru) -> "is taken".
Thus, we have a compound verb with meaning close to "(someone) is taken (from somebody) through sex".
This meaning defines means and ends of the genre. While it's all clear with "means" part where change of heart should happen through pressure of carnal desires, the "goal" part where woman has to be taken from MC is debatable. Imho, female character is taken when her original relationship connetion with MC has been diminished or destroyed all together while new connetion with the person who "took" her has been established. And relationship with MC shouldn't necessarily be as lovers, family bonds seems legit target to me as well.
A few word about subgenres.
Usually nerori is seen as "good MC take poor woman from bad husbund/lover" and I don't think it's correct. While netori no longer has passive voice in「取」part, it still has the 「寝」part which should be the main reason (means), otherwise it's no longer a netori game/VN but... some sort of melodrama I suppose. Good example of genre would be studio pork, especially their latest VN

NTR is a very popular category, they will put whatever tag they can that gets them sells. Its why you get a ton of shit NTR, its NTR by the bare minimum that can be justified so they hit that category.

Had a quick glance at "better definition" and already saw some misses. The main difference cuckold (netorase) and netorare is that MC in netorase not only knows about his lover's adultery but also enjoys it (in some masochistic way), while in netorare MC might not even know what happens behind his back and if he'll ever figure it out it won't be an enjoyable moment for him. Also it's stated that netorare is always includes cheating which is not possible if MC is a woman's relative.

About jp people. Same as us, they start to lose the sense of the genre, it's true meaning. Or, as stated above, simply use the tag to draw more attention.

Not sure if they are starting to lose the sense of the genre tbh. It's more likely that theyre just going for the fundamental aspect of the genre and just churning them into low quality ntr . But that doesnt mean it's not ntr. It's bad, but it's still ntr.
Are they losing the essence of ntr and most of them just want to make ntr games for profit? absolutely.

It was just quite hyped and turned out to be a major letdown.
It is not horrible absolute garbage (well someone might say it is), but the difference between the hype and reality was a bit harsh.

But that won't work. The dispute did not arise from a lack of knowledge. I don't know how many times I've had this discussion with others. In meantime I have given up on it. NTR's fans already know what it really is. The haters usually don't want to know and use NTR as an excuse to enforce their will, which in their opinion is above all others, and thus exclude other men from the game.
And even since the last reform, NTR has been completely incorrectly explained in the forum tags to this day. In essence, the starting point there is still an LI, not the necessary existing relationship.
