I quite like Inoda as an antagonist.

There is a fuck-boy (I'd call him Chad, but he drugs women, so he's def not) who ends up fucking Kiritos sister, and I don't think he'd be nearly as effective as the bad guy for Asuna. The reason Inoda is so effective is because of just how fucking pathetic he is. Kirito is supposed to be the powerful gamer who got the girl, who won, and all of a sudden this nerdy human turd of a guy appears out of nowhere as his neighbor and starts taking what was his. It makes for great NTR.

Not to mention Asunas pride. A bully type figure wouldn't meld well with her, because she both hates bullies and is an extremely prideful person. Forceful charms would be ineffective. Instead of a clash of personalities, one which Kirito would certainly notice, (as well Asa relationship he'd be weary of, seeing his girl with this muscled guy), we see a more underhanded side. We see Inoda, someone so pathetic and sad Kirito lets him onto their team and barely suspects even the POSSIBILITY of something happening between him and Asuna, slowly but surely worm his way into banging the chick of his dreams.

I think it's all pretty good. Forget logic, let's think narrative. I don't think Asuna once ever said she was attracted to Inoda, she was just horny for him, horniness spawned from a lack of pleasure from her bf and misplaced pity for this bullied bastard. Nobody (or very few people) who 'dig' Inoda actually believe that the fat ugly loser gets the girl in the real world. It *can* happen, it *does* happen, but it IS a very unlikely, rare occurrence.
