What makes for the best antagonist in your opinion?

Actually none of your suggestions, I'm ambivalent to the MC's feelings towards the antagonist providing the female love interest likes him/them. Her pleasure corruption is more important to me in an NTR game than anything else.

I'll play NTR that doesn't go along those lines, but that would be my preference.

It probably is once the game is out. Demo is setup-only so far. Prologue. Basically the romance part and character introduction before NTR starts.

What makes for the best antagonist in your opinion? This starting relationship is imo maybe even more important than developing the relationship of MC and heroine. I think about it in terms of relationship to MC/heroine. Here are some basic possibilities I remember seeing:
1) He is absolutely hated by both. He is a horrible human being and they let him know it (usually ugly bastard) (the main antagonists in this game for example sanctuary of promises )

2) He is hated by MC, only by proxy with heroine (which is easily swayed away). This is usually antagonist bullying MC (mother NTR usually) - Netorare milf natsuko

3) He is well liked by everyone around. Pretty much a paragon, good at everything. May or may not be an asshole in private. But both MC and heroine like him at start. I think Reborn Island sorta fits? I havent played too much of it but felt to me that way

4) He is pitied by heroine/MC - some pathetic person down on their luck, ends up taking advantage of heroine. Like the hobo in scars of summer

5) Liked by MC, hated by heroine - asshole best friend of MC ( I think I played some games like that, but nothing specific comes to mind)

For me its number one by a long shot. Maybe its because I am a big fan of corruption, but having a character go from being loathed and hated to being completely in control of the heroine makes for the longest and most satisfying journey.

I'm also into 1, and if we can add extra such as ; MC ex girlfriend cheated on him with the antagonist as the initial reason his actual girlfriend and himself dislike the antagonist

Nah, this game is terrible. The gameplay of just walking around the map is simply the most boring thing I've played this year. Besides, the route corruption is annoying and morbid. The ending of Bob's route is garbage; honestly, I don't know where you got the idea that this route was good. This is just another fact that proves it's pointless; nobody will ever be able to make something on the level of Scars of Summer, not even its creator.

I think some people just like having an enemy. And with how, when trained well and for certain scenarios, AI is, at first sight, indistinguishable from non-AI stuff, peeps will happily cry AI at anything just to keep with it.

wdym AI stuff is so noticable. Its usually the lighting the best give away for the slop AI. For the western look AI you can see that it has 9 chins on the girls sides. And for realism AI its just feels super artificial. The only time AI looks real is when it used to do old looking photos.

I am not super against AI but you have to be super room temp iq not to see if its AI or not. Or your standards are just too low

I like duplicitous/2 faced netori trusted by the mc/npc and either disliked by the heroine or liked by her until he tries to do something to her. It keeps the mc oblivious of the dynamic.
An application of that idea is basically someone who is part of the party in an rpg and uses that to rape/corrupt girls around the mc.

I think you are a bit behind. While true then, I feel like its getting better and better at lightspeed. Just look at aperture. I am not saying its perfect, but at the rate its going, its gonna start being hard to distinguish very soon even for a keen eye and already is in some cases.

EDIT: or look at all the AI generated shorts of animals doing stuff. Its very hard to tell already

Again, I will stay on my statement that you have to be a bit dumb to take. If you see animals short AI stuff it mostly has intentional shitifying video compression that makes it look bad. I am not saying AI wont get better, but if you cant tell what is AI or not I hope you doing well in life

Apenture looks nice. But its not really an AI slop type of thing. The creator made his own models and trained his engine. But it again has the skin folds that are way too many.

I am not saying its 100% there yet, but if you look at where this stuff was a little bit ago... this part is gonna get there too. At least for those who understand how to use it. And usually that stuff you notice, is because you hyperfocus on it. People dont usually check every single inch of an image. They do when they want to hate AI or are trying to tell if something is AI or not.

Man I'm so goddamn done with eyeless antagonist. I know it's a stupid thing to care about but I don't know what about it just remove like 40% of my enjoyement of the game. I'm not agaisnt the cliche of old man/delinquent/shota or whatever but for goddamn sake put eyes them, I'm so done with those generic character design.

For non jp game I also really like Azienda antagonist

Like I don't know, it seems like such a simple change to distinguish you from the other slop game...
