I'd like to play an NTR game where I didn't know it was one until it blindsides me. If you already know it's NTR you see a girl with a standing portrait and you already know the ending. Too bad if it's not clearly advertised as NTR the vanillafags would raise an uproar if they got baited into playing it.

Yeah I highlighted this issue some time ago. Once you know the genre and you know you are playing the genre, the girl is kinda "prefucked". Its very hard to make me have vanilla outlook on her. And as you said, its impossible to hide because people would lose their shit.

A thing that I think works to circumvent this is if its a character that originally didnt have an ntr route. Like with the 5 days separation dev, where you had the sister of the ntred heroine who was just a vanilla character who took care of the MC and then he released a work that had ntr with her. You didnt know he would release it, at the time it was just a kinda vanilla good ending, where MC ends up with the nice sister. I think thats why a lot of people really liked that story (well the reworked one, he did kidna half ass it at first).

Of course now that it is released, that magic is kinda gone too, unless you dont realize that work exists.

EDIT: maybe we could start a russian roulette here. Give a list of downloads and make it a russian roulette of ntr, mixing vanilla and ntr there. Problem is that most of us already know most good ntr games and the games also kinda wear the tag on their sleeve - the menu having the heroine in a pose/situation that makes it obvious.

Maybe once AI becomes so good it can make porn games on request lmao.

It's definitely a journey matters more than the destination genre after your first few games. Some books are good enough that it's a fun read even if you read the last few pages first. Too bad most NTR devs aren't exactly writers.

Maybe if AI gets good it can turn any non NTR game into NTR while keeping the initial character development intact by copying coding style, writing style and art style. /cope

I think people overvalue the effect of what basically amounts to a "jumpscare" I think it is better to do as kulman mentioned. and build an untouchable npc that goes parallel to the story and then have them get NTR

I really liked the healer game. Even though there was quite a of of suffering to get a somewhat half working translation. I thought that the story was well developed and directed concise and I had no problems with the mechanics besides some dropped frames I got in my pc. the healer game certainly put this creator on my radar. and from what I saw on your link I am definitively looking forward to that new game.

While I have some, ehm, skills to bring the story to life as a comic or VN (with lewds too - using more handwork with qwen/z-image/flux/sdxl for this part), the process is too time-consuming to complete without financial compensation, ahah.

So far, I got some income with producing some 'realistic' ai-influencers, but it's an overcrowded market nowadays.
