To be fair to all those people who paid money to support the game, the annoyance is not getting the product after paying for it. For those who are waiting for a free game, a few weeks or months might not seem like a big deal. But to those who paid for the game as early as 8/2021 with the promise of the game releasing ~12/2021, waiting around for a year and still no game expect for the leaked alphas to play just sucks. Also the reason for the delays is because the game's scope keeps getting bigger. Stuff like the ryokan was not even supposed to part of the release. Instead of releasing a base game early and then releasing updates, it seem like the current strategy to release the game in almost complete state. This might not be a mistake but it was not what was promised. Getting to play the leaked alphas makes the wait better but all the delays makes you wonder if supporting the project was a stupid idea aspose to just waiting for it here.

All of your outrage is understandable, and I'm upset with you. But having worked in gamedev for over 15 years, I know that there are problems in game development. It's about finding the best solution and the best implementation of your ideas. You can be happy that the author is redoing what he doesn't like, listening to other people's opinions. And do not lay out an unfinished product, made anyhow.
Right now the prime example of a game that sold out but wasn't made for years is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. I bought it in early access I don't even remember when, and it's unknown if it will even come out.

And don't forget the kickstarters, how many were paid only to have the money disappear without a finished product, at least this looks like it will be.

Teramisu just keep going.

While I agree this game is leagues better than other game projects that got the funding but never released anything, I cannot excuse the constant delaying of the game to add more features. The original reason for delaying the game if I remember correctly was because the developer had a deal with NTR Legend's developer, Golden Boy, to release this game after NTR Legend is released in America. I was fine with that but more delays happened because he kept moving the goal post. I too have some experience in software development and if you told the customer that the software will be delayed not for QC reasons but because you don't think releasing the software now will satisfy the customer, the customer will no doubt be angry due to the developer's poor planning and work schedule.

I really thought the game will follow NTR Legend's development cycle. That game was originally released not complete but it was functional, mostly bug-free, and enjoyable. It took years of updates for it become close to complete. Ntraholic looks like when it releases will be mostly complete and while I am sure it will be great based on the leaked alphas, it is reasonable to be angry for still not having a set release date after one year of delays.

No one wants to play a game rushed out that it is so buggy that it is unplayable. But that is still better than investing in the project and keep waiting until the developer thinks the game is satisfied.

In part, I completely agree with you. There are deadlines with the publisher and fines can be imposed, etc. This all comes with experience. As written above, you shouldn't have written a clear deadline if you're not sure you're going to make it in time.
Ideally, you could release a vanilla version and add updates with patches, if that suits those who invested the money.
We don't have long to wait, I suggest we be patient.

But as I understand from the author's post, he's not waiting for monthly installments to give access to the full game.

Do our patreons need to subscribe every month to get the latest version-update of the game?
No you don't. All you need to do is subscribing for a month and for the later versions we will send it to your email. Though, it would be reckoned if you could keep an eye on our updates and let us know if you have not received the new version.

To put my two cents in, it looks like developer is too perfectionistic for his own good. Like, he did something than thinks "Hmm, I have a new idea that would be better for this" and it goes on and on. If I remember correctly, he posts something like this at the end of October, after the first postponement.

I understand the outrage. It is just there are a lot of pressure on my side. Releasing it as a demo and then keep adding stuffs could be a way, but it might not be the best in our case. If this game has no inspirations from other games then I think i might be safe to do so. But getting "inspired by NTRLegend" results in a very high expectations from players and also comparisons between these two games will be inevitable. When we release something that is worse than NTRLegend, maybe some ppl will understand us, but a large number of the rest will just say it is lame, and it is shitty. At least I have seen a lot of these comments before.

Initially, with the assumption that NTRLEGEND was not going to get updates any more(in 2021 Sep), it will not be hard to release something that is at a similar level of complexity. However, GB is back and he has made a huge update to his game(almost doubling the amount of contents),which results in more challenge and pressure on our side.

Without enough differentiations and good contents, it is very hard to release it. A lot of people on the internet will judge it is a copycat of our inspirator and they won't even care to listen to the whole story. Besides, a bad first impression will be very bad for a porn game. While large companies have a lot of resources for PR(you still hear about 2077 even it is very buggy at the beginning), we have very limited resources in PR(hardly you here about indie games who sucks their release unless it is very good). So if the initial release is messed up, ppl will just forget about it very quickly and end of story.

Lastly, as I spent more effort in the development, I also have a higher expectation in its quality myself. We did better than before in the design of Chiho's home and then naturally we want something even better in the hot spring ryoukan. It feels itchy if you have built something 80 marks/100 before and now you make something 70 marks/100. As a developer you really would want it to be 80-90 marks/100. It is just the nature of a developer.

Comparing to software engineering, which I have some experience with it myself, game development is more uncontrollable. It has more of an art perspective and a lot of tweak & twist is needed. For applications, you care about its functionality and for games you care about your experience and feeling. When it comes to a feeling, an experience, it becomes subjective and hard to measure and manage. Sometimes, I spent my whole day testing a few values and curves of a mini-game and think what player will like or dislike. In conclusion, imo game development is more like a research and software engineering in general is more like engineering.

I feel very bad and sorry for making things going late and behind the due. The game is functioning now and the biggest challenge for us now is the review from DLsite. If that goes smooth, things could be faster than expected.

To be fair, 2.2.2a is on par with NTRLegend current build, if not better. Don't worry about NTR comparison, because your alpha already have more content than his game.

People can rant, but they understand the situation. The mistake about the late november release was indeed a bad one, but you called it out early, and there's nothing anyone can do about it now.

Let DLSite do its job, don't try to squeeze too much more content aswell, or you might burn yourself, like Golden Boy did.

If you really have more ideas for the game, let it be small DLC. I know "DLC" might scare people, especially in the Eroge Industry, but if the base game is good, people will buy it.

They WILL ask for a Ntraholic 2 anyway, since you're the only one right now on this niche gameplay (since GB is MIA for now, may he be well and safe).

Your game will do just fine. Believe in the work you've already done. And don't strain yourself more than its needed to.

So should i DL and play this, or wait for the update?
It's up to you, the game right now is playable with a solid amount of content.

But you won't get endings and you'll be blocked mid game.
If you can wait ~a month, you should be able to play the full experience.

It's not necessary to progress the story, If I remember. Just buy the camera, put It in her house, trigger the dialogue and the H scenes become unlocked

Is there any way to make this shota "parameter" go up or full? It feels much harder to make it go up than to make it go down.

It's difficult because it's not supposed to have any meaning, yet. The current version of the game only goes this far. You could reach full bar. I think someone here already did It. But, you won't have any progress whatsoever. Current version ends when you reach the exhibitionism scenes.
