Terasu is very good at making you guess.

tell me, when you are unzipping the new game version, are you unzipping to a new folder or overwriting the existing one?
Because you should unzip to a new folder to avoid errors every time.
I think that may be what's happening, if not I suggest trying a clean install and seeing if that works

Did what I said above and same issues as soon as I load the saved file (either from myself or from the game itself) it goes into an error screen. Rolling back crashes the game and ignoring it starts the game from the beginning.

My last suggestion is to just start a new save file. Thankfully the skip button exists and the game isn't very long yet. If you are still having these problems with a completely new save let me know. Also what operating system are you on? Windows, Linux, etc.?
