Maybe it's just a grass is greener situation but I feel like there's plenty of animators on Nyl's level making vanilla/straight content while when it comes to futa stuff the pickings are pretty slim

I honestly don't really understand the hate for futa. You're most likely just going to watch stuff that has a guy, while you aren't attracted to guys. So why not just turn the guy into a girl? I guess maybe it puts too much emphasis on the fact that there's a dick present, or you can't self insert or something.
Well, he didn't say he hated it. A lot of people like to roleplay the male and that's impossible with futas. In some cases it might just be they simply are not attracted to the idea which is ok, too. I never found any interest in tentacles, for example (read dick never responded to it).

Might as well try the new concept of looking at other different content then, I know it's a new concept but it's not that difficult. His 20 second videos have more plot in them than some creators' 5+ minute videos honestly, so you won't catch me complaining. Especially when I don't pay the guy a dime.
There are 100 artist who make high-quality straight videos, but one of the one time futa enjoyers get someone like NYL who does almost exclusively futa art, somehow the non-futa enjoyers complain.

I, too, wonder who can be the analogue for Nyl in vanilla category? I mean he not only makes high-quality anims, and sometimes even long ones, but also creates models in his unique kind-of-realistic style. And he also comes up with interesting settings like home-nyltok-videos, strip club and now the interview with the upskirt thing. Is there someone with the same set of qualities?

I definitely wish he would mix it up more than he currently does.
Imo there is a place for every size from small to hyper. But all Nyl does now is hyper, and it didn't used to be this way. When he did MK stuff, sometimes he would make Cassie a futa, and when he did she was big but not insane (contrasted with Sindel who was). And yeah as recently as Bordello 1, he used a more average size on the elf client. But ever since then, they've all been like 2 feet long, which I think is a downgrade. He frequently says in those writeups for WIPs or in his OW model showcases that he wants to experiment with different body types, but that doesn't apply to dicks, apparently.
