Bordello Calarel was very, very mid. Chubby futa is kinda unpleasant to look at and the drow was very flat and boring, doesn't help that she looks lowkey miserable during most of the action.

Bro I thought the futa elf's was perfectly fine for the role of a brother keeper. I also wished she would be a bit muscular but again for that role, her look makes sense.
But I agree that calarel was not the best pick, I wish Nyl picked another character with some curves. Im guessing he picked calarel because she was the last one of the bordello girls to get a full video. Just so happens to be a 10 min video.
I honestly would've preferred to see lyria here

The futa was fine, the body type wasn't the 'normal' and that was perfect given that she was basically a rich brothel owner tasting the goods before they went on sale. As for the Drow? Shockingly they are flat and boring, it was kinda the gimmick of the character as she was being consistently passed over for other women, even by her own people (the twins). The poses were debatable because that's more of a preference situation, but all of them seemed to revolve around the fact that the Drow was being used and that was the point of the whole anim.

I get that it makes sense for the drow to be like that in the story (fucking lmao), but it doesn't make her any less boring.

I have a sneaking suspicion that we won't see another Bordello until like mid-next year, and that sucks, but honestly doing a bigger group thing would be neat with more of them at once.

You say you disagree with me but at least you remember his Bordello Calarel video (even if you misspelt the title). I'd bet anything you wouldn't be able to remember the short animations he released before and after it without checking first though, and that was my point.

Memory as a metric? That's an interesting take to say the least. Popularity doesn’t reflect quality in any art form... it's the hype that generates the reach. The obscure pieces can be just as strong without getting same spotlight.

If you're going to reply at least read the other messages first, I was never using memorability as a metric of quality. I was making a point that his longform content is generally the most liked and remembered and not the 10-20 second videos he makes for his animation challenges or as in-between pinups, which is obvious (or at least should be) because he does that shortform content to learn and improve his skills for his longform videos.

Whatever the next big project of his is, I just hope it isn't Overwatch, I know it will be, but I'm hoping it won't. He's killing me with all the Overwatch stuff.

Kind of setting yourself up for disappointment when you know his next big project is Overwatch while still expecting something else, no? With like 70% of recent content being OW, you'd have been better off taking a break from checking his stuff for a couple months until he's swapped interest to a new IP.

Uh huh, sure. I've been taking a break on and off since he dropped Mortal Combat, came back for his resi evil stuff, then have been on and off again since then, taking your advice means is be checking in every 5 years or so.

Has nyl even hinted at the prospect of continuing with the series?

He said in an update at the beginning of the year that he has another Bordello series idea that would come after his next OW animation (which turned out to be Girls Night Out). In a much older update, he said he had an idea for Bordello 5, and that it would be a lesbian animation.
I like the Bordello series, Bordello 4 was probably the second best after Bordello 2 (which I still think is Nyl's best animation, that or Worshipping Selune), but I'd like to see him do another long animation with actual Baldur's Gate characters like Minthara, Shadowheart, Karlach, Jaheira etc. OW is also fine but I do wish he'd use some different characters than the ones he always does. I really want to see a Mercy animation, with Pharah or Ana.
