I've seen other creators do the same thing for people who wanna use PayPal to support. They just send updates and stuff via mail. I'd imagine Technobrake does the same for these few people.

I have seen so many creators who abandoned their game and ghosted supporters, but they left the patreon open and still rakes in several hundreds of dollars every month and it goes on even YEARS after the last update. That is making me believe, that the vast majority of devs who do this, are simply screwing over the straggler supporters who forgot they subbed.
Even though your proposition might possibly be the reason, I highly doubt it simply by the overwhelming amount of devs who were more than happy to scam people for money just because they forgot about it.

So if Netflix officially shuts down but they keep charging my bank account for months/years afterwards for the monthly subscription fee, and I didn't discover it for a long time.
