In the Grimdark future of Next Week...yeah, a dystopian future.
Got to love how Unity3D decided the best move they could make is to hire an EA CEO thinking he would not make aggressive for profit moves.sooo... anyone know how the "Very Stupid Thing™" that Unity has done is going to affect this game?

Likely that the devs have to stop production and move to another engine which fucking sucks. Idk if the devs lurk around here all that much, but I'd probably recommend that they kind of sit and chill for a little and see how it shakes out. I'm hoping there is enough backlash that Unity reverses the decision.sooo... anyone know how the "Very Stupid Thing™" that Unity has done is going to affect this game?

These changes are really awful and there is less and less trust in unity, but you guys haven't fully understood how this shit is going to work. For developers to start charging a fee, they need to cross the threshold of 200,000 downloads for all time AND 200,000 dollars in 12 MONTHS. If the game doesn't earn that much, they won't charge a fee at all. But it's more a matter of time and if the game really shoots. I'm not defending anyone, and I wish the CEO of Unity all the worst.Likely that the devs have to stop production and move to another engine which fucking sucks. Yes, but it's a dick move and who knows what they will do next. Once I'm done with this game my next game will not be im Unity and I've seen many similar sentiments from other developers. If it wasn't for the threshold increase when you upgrade to pro I'd be paying around 18k$(!!!) a month or even 40k$(!!!!!!) with the free license. Hey man I hope you wont get burned by this shit.Yes, but it's a dick move and who knows what they will do next. They've lost the trust of thousands of developers. The only way I could see developing my future games with Unity is if they completely undo this entire thing(which they won't). If I could I'd stop using Unity today I would, but game engines can't really be swapped like that and they know it. It's pure exploitation of developers for profit.
What we could expect from the CEO that wanted to make us pay for ammo reload in Battlefield multiplayer?Yes, but it's a dick move and who knows what they will do next.
Wait... you're making over 200k $ a year with that kind of games? And no updates in over 3 months?Yes, but it's a dick move and who knows what they will do next. the game isn't easy to make mate.Wait... you're making over 200k $ a year with that kind of games? And no updates in over 3 months?
they probably expect a huge team behind the game which spoiler alert it isnt a huge teamthe game isn't easy to make mate.
Nope, we are closer to 100k$ actually. 200k$ is an achievable goal though. Making games takes a lot of time. Try making one yourself and you will see that it's not as easy as it seems.Wait... you're making over 200k $ a year with that kind of games? And no updates in over 3 months?
judging by the rpgm crap ive personaly bought on dlsite it depends on quality. some of that shit is achievable in a week.Nope, we are closer to 100k$ actually. 200k$ is an achievable goal though.
