In general I agree with this sentiment. Piracy is good for marketing, buuuut for games like mine that only keep the content exclusive for a short time the lost exclusivity dwarfs the marketing gained from it being pirated.

I guess some still consider AAA games art and not glorified dried milk processors that want $100+ for glorified early access crap. Can't remember the last time a AAA was playable upon release, didn't feel like they hired a psychiatrist to figure out what my mental breaking point was so they could try and sell me gems (or other make believe currency to operate the lootbox casinos), seemed like the devs had a story they wanted to tell that wasn't planned by comity to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and that's if the devs were lucky to not be crunched up when fed to the meat grinder.
