I mean you far from new to this site you should know there are massive defenders that don't properly read or anything heck 1 is well known for it.
You did probably make a decent point though on why MC knows so little yet others do that is a odd thing, but I mean it's a poor/simple 1 of many common "mechanics" for viewer/reader like TV shows / Movies do this sort of thing also and worse by far from Marry sueing *cough Rey cough* -> O there a 2nd Tower thing no1 knew about.
So think you ranting and exaggerating how bad it is was maybe uncalled for though since you put /rant I think it should have been ok technically, but again defenders (which are not restricted to here of course).
As far as terms ya that's always been a mixed debated thing including worth doing or not. I mean this I think is always debated on many things (from VN-Games-Anime) and many things just decide not to do it or use simpler/more english terms (what I hate).
--> I mean even just watch 5 animes and there a good chance you will run into all types of ways it handled (Putting the term with definition at top sometimes with or without further explaining; Changing the word(s) entirely; Assuming you watched enough anime to know what they mean; not care; doing a improper word change etc...).
