I just checked their patreon, I am surprised they only have 33 paid members currently. Is this game not really that backed by supporters?

Not surprised about that low amount, a good chunk of the game is dealing with/having relationship with a prostitute, and unavoidable. Wouldn't really play if it wasn't for the ctrl skip, aside from that game has potential, but that really makes it very niche.

Props for trying to make something different, not many successful games have prostitutes as main (and forced) LI. I assume there's a good reason for that though

, that's just evil, dude's a villain for sure. I'm half expecting STDs to play a role in the story, otherwise I can't really understand forcing her unto the players when the other whore is avoidable.

Not saying I agree with anything being forced (in any game, ever, actually), but Rio — and not a supposed STD that hasn't even been hinted at in the game; porn logic, of course — might end up tying directly into the storyline at some point. I have no idea how, but there are a lot of possibilities. Maybe she was a witness to something Lauren's dad has been up to. Maybe one of his men lusts after her and it will force an entanglement with the MC at some point. I don't see how forced sex with her could be "the only way" to get the MC involved in something like that, but you never know for sure.

Anyway, again, I don't like anything being forced that's sexual, but there could always be a reason for it. Generally when there are a lot of choices in a game and something like this is not, there's some kind of plan / reason. That should be especially true here, I should think, given that the game swings back around to Lily's and sex with Rio if you "missed" it on Day 1. I guess we'll see (hopefully) what the reasoning is at some point. I'm not so sure I'll agree with that reason being acceptable, though.

I dont think there could be a reason why it needs to be forced to have sex with her, outside of the one I mentioned, which I dont really expect to happen either, but who knows.

You can always have her in the story without forcing the sex and have her play big a role later on. I think it is more probable that the dev just likes her too much or is too lazy/considers it too much unnecessary work to write an alternative path that doesn't have the MC having a romantic relationship with her. He could just make them very close friends, have mc give her emotional support, etc, I dont think people would have any objection to that, its not that she is hated or anything, but well, she is a prostitute

Anyway, time will tell, but I don't expect to find any good reason for this decision, which, for me at least, takes away a lot of the enjoyment I could have with the game and the rest of the cast.

Meh, like you say: time will tell. I'll withhold my judgment about whether the reason is good until we're much further into the story. Just because I can't imagine what the reason is, doesn't mean there won't be a good one. I have my doubts, but we'll see. So far, honestly not all that much plot-wise has progressed. Most progress has been LI-centered only.

For a dev with less than 50 patrons, yes it is. Meanwhile the devs with thousands of patrons are taking 9-12 months or even more to release just one update
