Why are you people so obsessed with a tag? They will add a tag if they really abandon the game, stop being annoying, it doesn't affect you. You're not even paying for it.

Why should I pay for an abandoned game?
THat's what I said, why are you here complaining because of a fucking tag? YOu're not paying for it they won't add the tag because you're crying about it, forget about it and move on.
why are you so invested in payments? do you earn money from it and the "abandoned" tag will let you withhout it?

Is this how you guys really spend your time? I know there isn't much to talk about in the game, but this seems especially pointless.
If the game is going to get an abandoned tag, we still have a couple of months to go. I believe the last post I saw from them on Instagram was about a month ago, so we have at least two months to go. Until then, I think we all know how this is going to end.

It is realy easy. If you had 200 subsribers with 1$ it is only 200$ per mounth. Ok. 500$ per mounth with all categores. In Russia 500$ it is lower than mediate wages per mounth. That is an answer. My income as an accounter is 340$ per mounth, My BF as Marine agent has per mounth 1013$, we have also 2 flats for rent 283 $ per mounth. Total 1650 $. And all the team has 500$ per mounth for all the things. I

Because they expect that they will start donating $4k a month right away, and they will not do anything, but only collect money.

That is the regular practice of an increasing number of devs. A great start, 2-3 updates gradually shorter and with longer periods between them. Then promises, wallpapers, lies to keep milking. After 2 years the abandoned tag.

this is why I dont support early projects and typically wait to buy the game after its finished.

If you're generous this pattern isn't always malicious, it's understandable. As games go on, they naturally become more complex and need a lot more work to complete. I think the most common problem with devs isn't that they're scammers, it's that they're amateurs who didn't plan ahead. They always seem caught of guard that their game with 20 characters and countless branching paths has become unmanageable for one person to develop. It's frustrating as hell because it's so easy to see coming.

You should probably wash your hands now ...... I'm a joker I have been here at F95 oops, forgot to adjust the font size, ok where was I, oh yeah, I have been here at F95 for around 5 yrs
and have had the best time watching the steady improvements of the genre. but it's frustrating to see some of the games go abandoned.
This story didn't seem overly complicated to me, I like the fresh take on the VN/kinetic novel aspect using real actors/people.
and not just some cut and paste real porn crud.
As you said, I don't think they are purposely milking. maybe a few, but Karma will catch up with them sometime.
I had the idea of taking an abandoned game and putting my own dialogue in it.
I've tried my hand at RenPy, didn't get far, I can tell ya.
I chalked it up to that Old Dog, New Trick adage

Speaking specifically about this game, no you're right it wasn't overly complicated. What got them into trouble was using real models, I don't think they were prepared for the expense of it all.You took the words right out of my mouth

I was speaking more broadly about games that are abandoned. When I quoted McZoy I was trying to differentiate that most devs aren't scammers, they're just amateurs. I don't think VIGOR is a scammer either, their problems seem to be purely financial.

Yeah they probably thought they could raise enough funding with their new take on the genre and a few chapters of the game, but it didn't succeed. Maybe a lack of marketing too
