How graphic is the actual depiction of substance use? Recovering heroin addict here, just wondering before I play. Active addiction is an underused, but excellent narrative device for porn. Glad to see it appears well received.

That's fine, I'd probably do the same if that situation arose in real life.
But the MC is not you or I, and is in no position to throw stones. Lydia would toss the MC out on his ass (after kicking him in the nuts) for even thinking such a thought, as fucked up as he is.
After the MC gets clean himself, he could entertain such ultimatums, but I doubt that's where this game is headed. They need to help each other get straight.

I know the developer is trying to be realistic here, but this is a writing blunder. No woman, especially while apologizing for something, would ever tell another woman to calm down. Talk to a woman and replace this with something more realistic. Otherwise this is a well written VN except for a few yours that should have been you're.

Need some tender moments between MC and Lydia...constant verbal fencing can get a bit wearing all the time, sometimes seeing Lydia`s softer side would be nice.

I wasn't going to respond to this, but I feel compelled to. If I were to do an about face on Lydia and the MC's interactions. A large part of the people and ME who love her would find that unauthentic. I speak about the verbal fencing being their love language, and there have been tender moments imo. Her solo path in this update being one. The date you go on in chapter 2 at the diner and after where she puts on a dress for you. The fact she lets you sing for her, and sets that all up in Ch. 3. Also, this is the 4th chapter of many, they have not even gotten sober yet. Most/All of these characters are damaged in one way or another. Lydia and MC for that matter, really don't know a lot other than manufactured confidence. Lydia will likely soften some as the game progresses, but she's never going to stop being Lydia. As far as Mary's appearance. I'm done commenting about that. I find her to be beautiful. I thought she looked especially good at the Pizza joint. Renders are subjective, and I get a lot of crap because I go for photo realism over flood lighting that 90% of the games on here are and most of you are used to. I want the characters to appear as they would naturally in a given environment. So I don't light them like an instagram post. One day at a time... I haven't finished the current version, but I felt that I had to pause watching it and say that this VN is simply brilliant. Of course there is a romanticized side to it, and thank goodness otherwise it would be overwhelmingly depressing, but the essence of the drug-fuelled story is remarkably well done. The background details provided by the MC's inner dialogue are pertinent and impactful, and the ever-present notion of corruption gives this VN an edge that I have never experienced. It is beautiful as much as it is ugly, and while I guess that the choices will impact how hopeful or tragic the outcome, nobody will come out of this intact. Fabulous with a capital H!

Just another example of some narcissist who believes that everyone's likes and dislikes are the same as his. It's one thing to complain that you dislike the way something is done. Not everyone is going to like this or any other game. But, it's quite another to claim that your likes are everyone's.
Heavy text-driven VNs are not for everyone, but there are many who like the effort that can be put into a plot. As for not being enough FAP material, I have no idea what the hell he expects. There are plenty of great sex scenes in this game.

Sad thing is, we as devs can do nothing about it unless it violates the rules in some way. We can't even respond to it. All I can do is ask those who like the game to review it to cancel that stuff out.
