Its kinda funny and also extremely sad how uninformed and just outright inept a lot of this site's users are, the lack of basic knowledge for this stuff is kinda baffling honestly, it's like im back at early 2000's internet forums

The APPEND FILE requires to be installed, and its only installation path defaults to wherever the JP version was natively installed on the PC(it doesnt let you change path, so if you have it an a random folder it wont install), it DOES NOT work for the Steam version, the HD version has NO translation ANYWHERE(afaik, unless SVN finally got commisioned to it) and the files for the Steam release CANNOT be magically transfered into the HD version due to different encodings or something so just give up, the most notable thing you'll miss out on is a little namedrop of the next 2 games and of course more Catherine, Erena and Phee

So in the case anyone wants to read the Append scenes you either:
1. download and patch the og JP version/download the HD version
2.find a texthooker or really any MTL method
3.directly talk with Sugoi Visual Novel on his discord and commision him to MTL either the Append or the HD version

I was able to get an append file that allowed me to change the install directory, and it worked with the english version of the game. the append part is still in japanese though.

No, but I tried playing it again yesterday and my saved files worked idk what was wrong at the time but saving does work now.
