Since the installer is Windows-only, it appears the macOS version is unofficial.

Yeah I build that. But I rebuild the shared "PC" version too. With all the Renpy virus stuff wanted to make sure. And while I was at it just build Mac anyways

Oh I had the same problem:
When it opens in a new tab, simply right-click anywhere, select "Save As", remove the .txt extension and save it anywhere. Then copy/paste it where Bob told you to.
