im assuming the reason they are trying to flesh out the open world thing is to have more scenes outside of the massage parlor and have more things to do, which yeah is a bit ... dumb to do so early, if anything they should finalize the current in progress parlor animations and turn the open world stuff into a major DLC
they said they are gonna release an update in Q1 this year in a devlog, so probably by the end of this month hopefully

Is this game being developed by one chinese guy in his mother's basement? I've had it on steam for a year or 2 now and I can only remember 1 major update
its a very small team from what i can tell, and they are overreaching with what they want to do with it
that being said the scenes already ingame are worth what they are asking imo, just wish there was more (tiger cop in particular, she ...does things to me)

A year is divided into 4 quarters. The developers said that the game would be updated in the first quarter of the year, but there has been no update. It is not surprising that the game is considered abandoned.

Not based on, if an update has been released or not.
I abandon my interest into a game getting an update or not around 4+ years, and depending on if there are any recent posts/news if it was actually abandoned.
