Im not even joking. I sometimes think about making a gooner game just to do the same shit every dev is doing. It seems so easy and its literally free money
Go for it, I'm being serious. Everyone else is doing it. Just make sure to make it look promising. It's crucial to use Unreal Engine 5 and enable every visual feature available to make the lighting and graphics appear as realistic as possible. Consider hiring an artist to create high quality character models, or purchase/download pre-made assets. Then, create an empty map(or use free assets from the store), make the player character controllable, and once again, either download pre-made adult animations or commission an animator to produce them. You might need to spend a little to make it all look convincing enough to attract people willing to invest in what they think is a promising project. After that, follow the usual playbook: switch engines, rework maps repeatedly, talk about limited resources and the "challenges" of game development... just don't forget to thank your supporters in every post to keep them funding the dream they believe will eventually turn into a real game.
You could also take a page from the developer of a so called "game" called Wild Life, and just keep piling on side content and indulging in feature creep.
Do anything, except actually finishing the game. For example, that developer has spent years adding content to the sandbox mode instead of making meaningful progress on the core game. They've been receiving support on Patreon
for nearly a decade now, all under the promise of delivering an open world adult RPG, and yet, the actual game is
still nowhere near completion.
