Abso-tittie-lutly I’m not into either; it was just a great joke by the dev that I enjoyed. My very first VN was Acting Lessons, which I just checked is still holding strong at position 40 on that site’s top 200 greatest titles—an incredible feat considering the last update was on 2019-08-12. It’s unimaginable; no other VN has stood the test of time like that. DrPinkCake deserves all the recognition he’s earned as the undefeated legendary VN dev. I didn’t hop on any bandwagon—I actually discovered it through a Russian site called Porno Island back in or around 2017. That’s how I got into VNs, back when AL had only released two or three updates. I’m a true Vanilla King. Sorry JDOR, but even though this is the first time I’ve tried anything from you, you’ve shot straight into my top 5. As I said, I’m a true Vanilla King, I'm glad you limited interactions with uhm Parker and Riley IMHO wish it stays that way but I guess you probably can't always have your cake and eat it too and most of the titles here just aren’t my style—often only one or two kinks away from a complete delete and appdata scrub. I give a lot of great rendered titles a try but my stomachs as sturdy as Elijah Price.

yes, MC tells the story to Ruth... the police found the bodies, ruled it murder-suicide, but Parker thinks there was foul play. MC's aunt is still around somewhere and she probably knows what went down... I think she is in cahoots with Scarlet Shadow too (who was keeping tabs on MC). But MC might get some answers through Evelyn's ability too.

In at least one check, the game is checking against True instead of against Yes, and it seems to have the wrong result. I had one happening in a discussion which checked if emeraldisli = True instead of = Yes.

Yep happened in previous updates too but it was corrected in the next installment. With URM I was able to chose the correct path.

I hope the dev is taking notes and realize if they ever make a new game after this to avoid or never use string variables that are mostly used when the choices are yes/no, a string variable make sense if there is more than 2 different values possible on a variable like yes/no/maybe/probably etc etc lmao. Boolean variables that are simply true/false make more sense on a yes/no duality and I suspect it is why they keep making the same mistake/bug :LOL:.

yeah not the first time I wondered about the possible reasoning using strings for a simple yes/no variable, doesn't make sense to me.

There is another game/dev I follow that in their first game most major decisions were made with integer variables lol I don't think there is a single boolean variable in that game and that lead to some players get the wrong LI in the end lmao.

They corrected this on their current in development 2nd game, using major decisions with boolean variables true/false even when in some of those variables also was a stat/integer along with it. It is easier to code and set conditions and consequences later with boolean true/false. Its a learning process, mostly on developers that aren't very proficient with coding, what is normal, most are better writing stories and working with visual software.

I'm almost sure that if they started the Origin Story now all those yes/no string variables would be replaced with true/false boolean. They can still do it but probably would mess all our saves so not a good option now.

I haven't actually checked in the last one or two updates if they keep doing it since I don't remember running into issues with them. Maybe when I replay the last chapter I'll take a look.

In the prior update there was 1 or 2 mistakes like those and they were corrected, I checked those, I think they even made a patch to fix it not long after that 0.7 release but I may also be confusing with another game.

In this last update those mistakes only involve different dialogue, isn't game breaking that is why we didn't saw a patch for it.

Edit: I actually just checked the changelogs and there is a 0.8.1 and .2 with bugfixes and seems those were addressed, have to check what game version I have lol. Checked, I have the version that is here on the OP.

Can you send a screenshot of that bug? It is a variable that is set as condition often, just so I/we know if is on the new content or in older chapters.
