I can make a brand new game (prequel or alternate universe) and keep the story as engaging as this one did. Let me know.

I'd be interested in playing that bro, but it would probably be better if you made your own game in general judging by this dev sending a cease and desist to the other dev.

I think this genre is very unsaturated and could see a game inspired from this doing well. Radiant, which is sort of similar to this in that it's a father MC with dark and light paths is one of the top games on here and it really doesn't even have that much content.

It's actually the same one. There was even an own thread on F95 for that. After the no from the orig. dev they stopped the remake/continuation, but made the new game which has some elements of Our Fate: Lost at birth

I think Cookie was pretty spot on, IMO. It might be easy to create the models. Might be easy to do the poses and make the scenes. But not even cheating with ChatGPT can make you or anyone else know what the original Dev had in plan for where this game was going. You can of course guess. But that's all you're doing. You, or ChatGPT might think the dad is going to go this way with the daughter. In reality the original Dev wanted him to go that way instead. I don't know anything about how to do this stuff yet. Trying to learn when I have free time. But in the end, IMO, nobody can know how someone wanted his or her creation to go except the original creator.

Honestly I think he just meant that he could recreate the models after I thought about it more.

Sure though, both you and Cookie are right in that it wouldn't be the same story as the dev planned it, that is absolutely true.

The AI could give a decently close idea though since there is a lot of source information, but this Dev pursued legal action apparently to another Dev would tried to pick the game up, which is why no one should try.

I know a bit, it does seems doable to be honest but I don't think there is a point, he would be better off making his own game with a similar theme IMO.

I understand a remake is out of the question in order to respect the wishes of the dev, which I'm cool with but it would be cool to see a brand new game inspired by this one.

I think the dev had a lot of really great ideas in this and it's a shame to see them not come to fruition. This game was a great and rare experience for me, there's not really a lot of games similar to this one or at least not that I am aware of.

I fully agree with that.

There are several father-daughter games, but very very few get the athmosphere right (in my humble opinion).

Even there are several games with the same premise: father and daughter get seperated at or before birth and reconnect when the daughter reaches adulthood. Which I think is a pretty compelling and realistic premise.

But none of them get this is right as this one. There are problems with the character of the father, the character of the daughter, the story progression, realism or all of the above. Apparently it is not an easy task to write this kind of story correctly.
