I'm pretty sure Axel has zero actual remorse about his actions. His true intentions show when he uses the pretext of "just wanting to meet to return Lena her things" to "accidently" slip her their polaroid pictures.
He doesn't want closure. He wants Lena back under his thumb and uses multiple ways to manipulate her to this effect.

There have been speculations about who it might be. Rumours of it being Seymour were debunked. I could go on about how it might be a certain character, but the truth is there's been nothing to indicate whether he'll actually appear or not.

It is true, but if you read their dialogues on several occasions it is evident that Axel/Gillian still have influence on them because of their memories, especially Lena, that her body does not forget the things that Axel did to her and that is why she enjoys sex more when she is dominated. by Ian or another man like Seymour, it will take time for her body to also forget that sensation since for her it must be like a drug that makes her feel very good
