I might have mixed some stuff, but I think you have to first call Seymour and agree to a meeting and then play guitar. Playing guitar ends all activities at that scene.
And thus you don't get restaurant talk with S.
But I did it like 2 weeks ago so might be wrong on what triggers what.

To trigger dinner with Seymour you need:
1) In chapter 1, pick either photo 2 or 3 to be featured in the exhibition to get him interested in Lena (and you get Wits bonuses for picking those, photo 3 is the best choice);
2) In chapter 3, call Seymour and agree to meet him.

I'll admit, the way I play this game is probably the wrong way. I basically play from Ians perspective and when I play as Lena, I deny everybody except Ian. That's the only way I can play female protagonist.

He's only flirting with Cindy so he can beat, rape and then take pictures of her. There are reasons Lena left him

I don't exactly think he would get violent, but I'm concerned with how he kept claiming "you don't understand you MUST listen to me" like cu*t if the lady says no just get on with it.
I hate guys like that, and even tho it's a game and I can go with a lot of f*ed up shit in games, this is a bit of a trigger.

I don't think he cheated on her at all. Ok, I might be hanging out on a limb (again) but I find it suspicious how vague Lena always is about the breakup. All we get, is that he 'broke her trust'. That could mean lots of things.

I doubt it, simply because Lena had 0 self-defense training and Eva wouldn't cause a scenario where something bad happens to Lena outside of player's control (like that freaking Lucas scene in DMD, still butthurt about that sudden game over screen). While Ash had similar scenes in GGGB, they were usually quite far into the game and were consequences for stupid actions or for drama in the mid-late game.
I do, however, think that based on how Lena handles herself with him, it might affect whether or not he decides to further mess with Lena or go for Cindy instead.

i don't think eva is ever gonna implement rape in her games (which i favor anyway), so i don't think he is going to be violent, except when someone has to intervene again like robert, but i think it's unlikely. he's gonna be angry sure, though i think that's about it.
i have 2 scenarios of choice sets i think this is going to go:
1.
a. you try to convince him you're not interested anymore, to no avail. this will be like you didn't call him in the first place.
b. you try to convince him with one of your stats, which has to be rather high, probably charisma. this will be the end of axel content for lena.
c. you let yourself get lulled by his words and give him another chance.
2.
a. same as 1a. above.
b. you use a will point to get rid of him.
c. you have a high level in lust and can have sex with him.

it could however also be that you have multiple choices and only doing them in the right order lets you get rid of him or get back together, otherwise it will be like you didn't call him, again.

Probably just because I'm curious to see how that would work out and where Axel's character would go. Would he just take Lena's forgiveness for granted and go back to doing the same things he did previously? Would he realize his fuck up and truly change? I mean, there's many ways this could go outside of the two I mentioned.

Your problem probably has to do with the "presplash.jpg" image located in the game folder. People reported similar problems and deleting that image seems to have solved it for them
