Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. They have gained skill and experience and then perfectionism kicks in. I am one perfectionist myself and let me tell you something, it consumes you if you don't know how to handle it. You need to learn to let go and accept that sometimes thing can be just 'good enough'. Problem is, every game devs wants their game to be perfect, doesn't matter if it's AAA or indy like Eva. But those AAA studio have deadline pressure from their publisher most of the time so they cut corners and features and downgrade their game, otherwise the game will never see the light of day and stuck in development hell.
Patreon dev don't have deadline because a lot of patrons support them with goodwill and are willing to wait. Not a bad thing, but it can be abused. Not saying Eva is doing this since she mentions a few times that she cut the storyline she wanted because she wanted to release them as soon as possible plus the constant pressure she's feeling to the point she paused payment. But she needs to realise that she will get better every chapter and if she keeps looking back, the former chapters will always look worse in comparison. She should take to the time to focus more on story intertwining and start planning to be honest.
