I guess it could be due to most of the patrons coming from GGGB which had female protagonist. So that's sort of like pre-selection for what EK's audience has interest in, and just a specific subset. Meantime male players overall prefer male MC (with a bid dick, so they can live vicariously through them)

If you have a male MC, you have more options in forms of love interests.
If you have a female MC, you only have her + lesbians.

Yeah I'm fine playing either in either, but if given the option tend to go female protagonist in vanilla games, male in porn games; although that's mainly because most porn game devs lack the imagination to write female protagonists as anything other than submissive fuck meat (or to be fair, don't believe there's a market for it).
