One thought I've had for ages, is for all the cheating in the game, everyone (but except maybe Ivy, Axel, Cherry, and perhaps Mike[?] because we don't see enough of their perspective) has horrible OpSec. Constant blatant texting, saving of sexts, no deleting or special apps, doing it inside the friend group. Ian and Cindy in the alley outside Blazer is the worst example, but Lena in Blazer is nearly as bad. They're all amateur cheaters (which is better than the master level cheaters), which fits the game, but oh so naive.

But from a dev perspective, you have the easiest ways of blowing up their spot for drama that you can find.

The lying to Perry (over Cindy) was an interesting system, especially with the feint of low points being worse than high points, that was pretty ingenious on EKs part.

Isn't that because the first version of their "opened" relationship is just them agreeing to try out sex with others together? To actually "open" it you need to cheat and agree to it. Like you said without the Louise threesome, Ian and Lena have yet to actually experiment together yet, so their relationship has to get to that point regardless of them agreeing to it being open or not.

The thing is that even if you have agreed to experiment together and alredy had the threesome with Louise, sex with Emma doesn't happen unless you got the ian_lena_pure path during the beach trip (that's what happened to me during my playthrough). Also, let's remember that the experimentation together with Louise happens after the already consumated Lena/Louise sex. By the way, Emma doesn't say a thing about already having had sex with Ian if it happened (clearly best girl and best friend ever) which could lead to a sort of repetition of the Axel/Lena/Cherry thing.

Personally, cheating and everything around it, seems to be EKs favoured kink. They've got a knack and an interest, and it shows. It's not mine, so I only ever get to those scenes when I've played my favourite routes and variations, and then I'll explore those ones, but I've got a mental distance to it.

Both Ian and Lena can choose to continue cheating, so even a particular example wasn't premeditated, they are making an effort to be open to it, and to continue cheating (on those paths). Making them both massive hypocrites, but that's part of the core game experience. You can avoid cheating, but it's very hard to avoid the temptation of cheating, in some form. Even the Holly/Ian/Lena is like dibs/friends level cheating. Not to mention all the Sapphic on the Side gets a free pass.

"I can't choose between them," "character X is just driving me wild" or a "I am betraying character x" statement with a shrug then sex etc. those kinds of justifications. Lena isn't fucking Jeremy or Louise while thinking how hot it is that she's getting away with it and Ian isn't plotting when to sleep with specific girls because that's whan he knows some other girl won't come knocking etc.

It's one run I haven't done yet, the Lena/Holly one. Any trips, or tips? Obviously Ian can't touch her, or you'd likely be locked out until the Holly Trinity kicks in. Or can you get away with that if Ian and Lena never dated (if the game lets that be possible). Obviously not just Lena and Holly hooking up on the Slutty Holly path, I've seen all that. Can Lena cad around, or should she just lock that shit down right quick?

And would Ian fuck any of their shit up somehow? I'm thinking it best he does a Alison committed path, because without Lena/Holly, I'm not sure I'd get around to it.

I mean, yes. None of them is a professional cheater, and for most of them it's something like first or second instance of getting involved in cheating ever. So the lack of prowess and/or paranoia isn't really surprising at all.

I would personally love another scene with Ian and Jess. Ian taking interest in Bad Jess and helping her has low key been one of my favorite storylines.

I am always telling jess has most potential for drama/melancholic storyline imagin jess gets hope and cute dates with ian and than her past knocks at door or bad lena/ivy influance.... jess story has most emotional and sad hopeless potential like rollercauster

You're not alone bro, but I tell you, Cindy's gonna have two paths, Love and Sluttness. All the girls in the game have it, so it's inevitable that Cindy falls into this dark path. For now just think the Love Path is the real canon for Cindy because when you actually read the story you know that all of Axel's relationships end badly.

Yeah, it does seem like the most experience these folks have (outside Mike, Axel, and Ivy [probably]) is being cheated on, not cheating. I think Perry was one of the few that cheated that people know about, and that was a public train wreck.

She does with Mike at least. I've never played the either of their routes for any meaningful length, but perhaps it depends on her relationsip with Louise how much pleasure she takes on having her man?

Ian/Cindy love is not a canon event. It's probably a prime path though.

I think the three top contenders for canon path are Ian/Lena romance, Holly Trinity, or Ian/Lena dysfunctional relationship. But again, that's just one hungover bear's opinion. (more working on tomorrow's, than dealing with today's)
