Pretty much. It used to be different for the alpha version of ch 8. Back then you could have sex with Holly as Ian and still have Lena hook up with Holly even if Lena is already dating Ian.
But now Lena can only hook up with Holly if Ian is not dating Holly AND Lena is not dating Ian.
I don't follow the logic behind this one at all. I can do a playthrough where Lena has no problem hooking up with Mike despite him openly having a girlfriend, plus hooking up with Jeremy (in her own roommate's bed no less), all while actively hooking up with Ian... but for some reason she couldn't possibly join Ivy and Holly because of her relationship with Ian? How do those choices factor into each other at all? It makes sense that Ian has to choose between Holly or Lena due to their relationship, but it's completely different for Holly and Lena, especially once it's well established that Holly is no longer pursuing Ian. Just seems like a blatant brick wall in an otherwise very open ended choice structure.
Emma's a very permissive leftist. Perry could strike her as a potential "kind soul" easily enough persuaded into a permissive open relationship, where she can have her freedom along with the emotional security of a devoted home-base to come back to. Reality: She detects someone infatuated with her, but easily mouldable, with a spine of jelly, who'll likely let her do what she wants with some arm-twisting. Gets to have her cake and eat it too.
Her rose-tinted glasses interpretation: Perry has the potential to break free of the cis-hetero-normative patriarchal views that most men are locked into. Exactly the type of partner she wants to come home to after a rigorous month-long bout of "free love". He also seems open to exploring his feminine side and she likes that in a partner.
Translation: Perry's a potential doormat that Emma can also peg occasionally to feel powerful and get her (potentially) deeply buried domineering-male-animosity rocks off. A way to balance out, as she likely also likes to be dominated by stronger, more alpha males. (Maybe a way to "stick it" to men like Seymour without actually, you know, "sticking it" to men like Seymour). She'd never see it that way, since her type likes to have that "kind, loving" view of themselves.
A lot of speculation there. I'm definitely filling in a lot of blanks about her nature, motivations and desires. But that's the only mental scenario that makes sense to me as to Emma's interest in Perry. I couldn't see them as a couple in any other dynamic.
FWIW, I don't think she'd pull this type of dynamic with someone like Ian, where she semi-consciously knows she couldn't get away with it. (At least not the version of Ian you need to play to get with Emma as a love interest). But more aggressive, confident men probably have a different effect on her where she wouldn't want to anyway. Basically, Emma strikes me as a strong switch.

Eva made this change in response to the complains about Lena's character in the Alpha release. She basically did a rewrite for the scene where Lena confronts Ian about him sleeping with Holly. Many were displeased with the fact that Lena condemns Ian for sleeping around when she herself later sleeps with Holly, fully knowing that Holly slept with Ian. Another reason for this change could be that Eva wanted to make the game more linear since the branching paths were getting out of control. Idk.
You're right that it streamlines the choices and makes it very hard for Lena to do it with Holly in ch 8 now. Personally I was fine with Lena in the alpha release. I didnt mind her being a flawed character and a bit of a hypocrite. But I do think there will be future gateways into the Lena Holly path and even the Ian Lena Holly path. Fingers crossed.
Ian + Emma I, Ian + Emma II and Ian + Emma III
Only thing that makes that scenario unlikely to me is that to get Perry with Emma, you have to play Ian as a good friend to Perry, which currently locks out the Ian + Emma route. She could write Perry + Emma in as an option later down the line if Ian + Emma take a casual fuck-friend route, but with all the potential paths she has to develop already, it's anybody's guess if she's got the time and inclination for it. I think the most you'll get in an Ian-screws-Emma route is a bitter, friendzoned Perry potentially peeping in and getting off in spite of himself. More likely it will be a bitter friendzoned Perry without the cuck-voyeur aspects + a broken friendship between him and Ian. Just because Eva's got her work cut out for her already. I don't think Eva will actually justify the current Perry + Emma pairing in a believable way in her writing, tbh. She's great vs other porn-game writers. But a lot of her justifications for character decisions are still pretty thin.

I think Ian/Emma/Perry is one of several trios where we’re likely to see some kind of cuck/cheating/humiliation content. But as dontcarewhateverno and aykarin pointed out, the mutually exclusive routes makes it harder to imagine how it would play out in the strict sense of the term.

I guess the delay is caused by the fact that Eva is applying some "retroactive" changes to the game, which will be quite interesting to see.
Yeah. I think that route would be better with a character other than Jeremy. He definitely fits the physical aspects (a very tight fit that requires some lube). But his personality is far too bland to fit the role well. It's the route Eva selected for the dynamic though, like it or not. On the opposite end as the cuck-er, you've got Ian + Cindy/Wade - though I also doubt Wade will get off on it and I don't see any humiliation aspect there, so more of a general infidelity "so wrong, but feels so right" kink. Ian + Emma/Perry fits more of the Alpha > Beta humiliation aspect, but isn't really cuckolding since Perry isn't seeing Emma in that route + there's no evidence (yet) that Perry will be peeping in or getting off on it. I don't think a friendzoned Perry will get off on it either, though he's a much meeker, more cuck-worthy character than Wade. But it's anybody's guess.
