I agree with what you are saying mostly but you are missing one thing. Ian has been training as a child aswell and that muscle memory and "feel" for the fight takes a really long while to fade away.
He also already beat a real fighter so he is no beginner that trains 1-2 twice a week, we don't know how often he goes but it's safe to assume it's a lot more than shown in the game.

I went with the BJJ option on my run, but wasn't there also a pure Striker option? I think that would not have fared as well against Axel.

I am definitely not a martial arts or any kind of fighting expert, I just know a few things from my personal experience, but trading blows with someone who got bigger reach than you and got biceps in the size of your head is a very punishing experience.

Damn, I know men are coward when they hit women, but to know that some of them are cowards in a fight with other men too since they are incapable of fighting fair and square with other men is just confirming that those bigger guys who don't fight fair are the ones who are violent toward women in general.
