I was a subscriber for a year on Eva's patreon so maybe I can shed some light on this update. I paid Eva $12 monthly for a full year in 2022 because I really liked the game and I wanted to see it finished. I stopped because development was slowing to a drag even in 2022. I also stopped because supporters seemed to be okay with the game development slowing to a drag.

I remember she posted a life update saying she had no time to work on the game in the month of April (or maybe May?). She offered a vote for supporters; One option was to still take payment and still support the game for the month she didn't work. The other option was a refund for that month. I remember the vote for a refund was low, like 5% (I was in that 5%). IMO if you don't do the work I'm paying you to do then you shouldn't get paid. Its a simple ask.

A patreon helps developers work and finish projects, we pay you to finish a project (i.e. the game). It does not suprise me this game is still creeping along with development. There is no point in racing to the finish line, especially when supporters are supporting it being dragged along.

I'm not asking for it to be rushed. But at this rate and with the roadmap we are looking at being finished 2040 ish. In the meantime I'll check back in 2-3 years to get the next few chapters.

You know What's the most disappointing part of this update

The first beach update of this year came around 20-30 April
The second beach update came around 20-30 July with almost the same amount of content
Now after 3 months here we are in late October and we got in that time a epilogue of beach part and this Seymour update which combined not even have half of the amount of the second update of beach event

Eva kiss is getting even slower than before and this schedule of releasing a update as soon as some content is available to keep her patreon happy is not working for me bcoz this game is just too good to play only 1 hour in 1.5 month update

I really hope Eva stops doing this and starts taking more time to at least put out a update that has decent amount of content

What's more ironic is that the two characters which this thread hates so much stan and Seymour turn out be very similar at least at the base level
Stan is a simp for Lena who just gives him a bare minimal level of acknowledgement
Seymour in his infinite wisdom:LUL: just wants girl to love as the conversation between him and Lena suggests and also kind of acts like a simp with Lena

It looks like Lena might have more control over Seymour if she sleeps with him instead of denying him which is quite interesting a one reason to play his route to the conclusion

Maybe Lena becomes a gold digger and squeeze Seymour out of every drop and then if Lena and Ian are together can go live happily ever after:WeSmart:

Male Ian - Bang hot women

Female Lena - Bang ugly and weird men cuz i genuinely feel gay if i date normal ones, this way its more entertaining at least
Now talk about female Ian and male Lena, coward.

Jokes aside I get your point but it wouldn't kill to have at least one decent male romance option for Lena who isn't the MC with the right choices. Just one Dave-like dude who is genuinely a nice man Eva, that's all I ask, then you can have as many creeps/incels/cucks/playboys/manipulators/cheaters as you want!

Sad to say but I have pretty much lost interest in this game. Not criticizing anyone, the writing is excellent, the art is next level, the quality is great. It just takes too damn long between updates and this is only going to get exponentially worse as time goes on. Eva made one mistake, way back at the beginning, and that was to have 2 protagonists, in the style of game she makes, the complexity of this is mind melting

make Ian an npc and lets get on with the main story! Or switch it and lets see Ian's life

I still say its a mistake to have TWO protagonists who interact in this way. I actually can't think of ANY AVN games where the narrative is improved/enhanced by having this. But I can think of multiple examples where it is hindered. I get the appeal, you look at a game like, Detroit:Become Human (PLAY IT NOW!!!!!) where the story unfolds through multiple perspectives, and it just works so well. But keep in mind, that they almost never repeat a scene from another character's perspective (a trap many games/shows fall into, but it's always boring), and the POV characters actually don't have much interaction with each other at all, and its mostly relegated to the story's climax (hehe, climax) and they separate again soon after.

Contrast with ORS where the characters constantly repeat scenes from two perspectives, and frequently interact with one another. Which, IMO, actually makes me feel like the worst of both worlds. I'm in the driver's seat for both of them, so I'm... dating myself? And giving me more context actually makes the story less interesting. A great artist once said 'art is not about what you see, but what you make others see' and giving us every detail of a story, every angle of a scene keeps us from imagining things, it prevents our imaginations from filling in the blanks, which is often exactly what makes a piece of art so captivating.

I would play a game about Lena. Or one about Ian. But playing as both actually makes me less interesting in either. And sadly it seems like this creates a lot more work for the Dev, without much reward. I'm not even sure there is a better way to accomplish what Eva is setting out to do either, the concept might never survive the execution.
