As to my exact question I suspect it's some confusion on my end trying to word the question clearly. Is there meaningful changes to the story/interactions between who Ian and Lena are dating? For example, will there be a significant story differences if:

• Ian is dating Emma and Lena is dating Mark;
• Ian is dating Emma and Lena is dating Jack; and
• Ian is dating Emma and Lena is dating Holly.

I get that Lena's pathing will be different, but is there a need to have the above 3 as separate playthroughs? Or is there no real meaningful state changes between the three different combinations above? I'm not sure I'm framing the question clearly, it's a bit of a mental struggle day for me.

It depends on the character. If it's relatively minor character like Mark or Jack, there's not much difference to the overall story. If it's a major character like Holly though, there's a greater degree of change, both to Lena and Holly's personalities.

The trajectory of the narrative for the most part stays the same. Some choices allow you to choose whether to go to certain events, although that seems to happen more on Ian's side. For example the choice of going to Cindy's birthday or going to a book fair with Holly. But there is some effect on Lena's side. For instance, she only travels abroad if she works with Seymour.

There are plenty of scenes that are tied to specific relationships, and where there are events that happen on every route, there's usually some kind of dialogue difference dependent on who is who at least.

I have one route where Lena is a pure bitch. She bullies Stan, steals from Molly and Ed, hates the homeless, kicks the dog, hates her mother and also hates Cindy's guts. She also has an affair with Seymour and Axel while in a relationship with Ian. And she successfully hides it from Ian. Though Ian is no saint either. He is cheating with everyone he can get his grubby paws on. I call this the evil Ian and Lena playthrough, with Ian focusing on charisma stat and Lena focusing on wits stat.

That's perfect, thanks! Going in blind, just looking at variable names it's hard to tell the LIs versus minor side characters. I was just looking at the '<name>_dating' variable for both Ian and Lena as I assumed they'd be somewhat more significant. Trial and error it'll be to figure out who's who.

Once search is back up and running I'll try and see if I can find a list of major/minor characters to help focus the playthroughs more.

I don't think getting violent with either of them and winning that fight is going to be a teaching moment for anyone. Jeremy will see no fault in his logic, he still going to remain deeply entrenched in a dick waving hook up culture, framing it as anybody but him having double standards and "insecurity" issues or even going as far as blaming the women ("I told ya she was a ho") who slept with him.
