Unless it was changed, it gets conveyed through a dialogue by Wen early on. It was said there are 3 preliminary round fights. As in: you can lose one, win two and you´d likely still go through to the elimination phase of the tournament. That should mean probably 5 fights total, at least. Price money also confirmed, the exact amount, I don´t remember if was mentioned. Don´t think it was huge.

As for Mike: speculation, likely driven by potential Gillian-arc (personally still don´t think it´s him) but we have no idea really, other than he´s the only named npc confirmed to be in it so far and roughly same weight class as buff Ian? Maybe there´s even going to be 2 routes, one where you fight him and one where you don´t? Edit: Forgot to mention that there´s obviously also a possible conflict with him if Lena is on his path, while with Ian. Maybe that´s where the 2 possible different outcomes kick in.
Python:
yuri "You fight once a month against someone in your weight class from a different gym. You fight in a bracket, so even if you lose a fight, you can make it to the top three if you win the other ones."
yuri "There's a small money prize for the winner and finalists."
I think that's the only info available about the tournament format. It will be probably be as long as Eva needs it to be for narrative purposes

I wonder where Ian will move after his fight with Perry.
Question. Is this avoidable? I've played the entire update and they don't fight, but Perry does get together with Emma. Do I just have terrible reading comprehension, or did I avoid the fight?

No You're good. Perry only fights with Ian if Ian gets with Emma. No need to worry in your case.

If he gets Emma, he is very gladful for Ian.
You can also be neutral towards him, I highly assume he doesn't suggest for Ian to leave then.
He is mostly pissed of if Ian fucks Emma or if Ian insults him, and likely once the Cindy drama is revealed (he can already suspect it).

Eva kinda fucked herself with the branches lol

Now she needs to indefinitely keep in mind if Ian lives with Perry or someone else.

Or she could force Ian/Perry to be roommates and reconcile even if it doesn't make sense and no matter what Ian does, or make Ian move out even if they didn't fight :censored: which kinda doesn't make sense if Ian doesn't have a backup roommate (like Holly)

Poor Eva. Kinda backed herself into a corner here

Ah, a Quantum Ogre Mike (he's only the opponent if you've got a grudge match against him).

So only one fight down, and we didn't get the second round this update (unless it's been held back for .3). This might drag out.

Once a month? So that can drag out. Damn. August is done, so September and October for qualifiers, November/December for the semi/finals?

I haven't done it yet, but if you help him with Cherry, but swoop in on Emma, is it mostly neutral?

Whether there's a fight between Perry or Ian, Ian has still been thinking about getting a new place. And between all of his prospective GFs, it's easy to get a move on most paths. It's the few 'Ian is a player/single, but also pissed off Perry' paths that may be trickier. He might just move alone, now that he has the bigger paycheque, and Wade can move in with Perry.

A full tournament, with us participating in every fight feels too long for the remainder of the story to be told. Yes, there are some narrative threads left to resolve and EK can always add more as needed to pad the length. But a lot of stories have wrapped up, or are clearly wrapping up soon. Ian's LI, Billy's event, Ian moving out, etc. are all wrapping up presumably in the next two chapters on top of the next stage of the tournament.

Considering each chapter is usually one to two weeks of in game time. One to two more months already feels like a stretch for how much in game time can keep passing without there being a time skip. That just covers the group stage. So four, five, or more months just to do the full tournament really feels like it would be stretching out the length of the game without really adding more.

Assuming we stick to the 20 chapters limit that has been floating around; at that pacing just finishing the group stage puts us right at the 20 chapter mark. Really brings into question when there is still a lot of speculation we'll be wrapping up sooner than 20 chapters. Not saying it's impossible, but it's just not the vibe I'm getting for where we are at with in game pacing and real world plans.

That's exactly what's impressive about this game, because this complexity is already a reality. I've read the walkthrough, but I've only realized the complexity and variety of the branches so far by replaying different routes with different statuses. That's why I think EK has cornered itself a few chapters ago, and that's great (it's not sadism, it's admiration :LUL:).

I'm really curious to see these more radical branches from now on and what the solutions will be to keep it all parallel and balanced.

Since Ian's initial salary is something like 2 coins iirc, technically even earning one more would be a significant increase. :sneaky:
I've always wondered what a real world dollar amount is to the ingame coins. I would equate it to perhaps around 200-300 Euro. That feels right for rent, tattoos, the expensive dress, and money sent to Lena's parents.

But then feels pretty absurd for Allison's wine, drinks with Cindy, and most of Lena's toys. Though it's been a long time since I bought a double headed dildo so perhaps inflation is a bitch

How broke is she if you don't sign on for modelling or caming? Can you even avoid it?

Agree with most of this. One way to mitigate this though would be to make the finals a "big" one time event, towards the end phase of the game. Like 2 fights in one swoop, Semifinal + Final. That would likely leave 2 more single/monthly fights (one of which we already know is in the upcoming week, for next Ian update). Seems doable.

Thanks for looking that up. So it was Yuri, actually. That´s basically what I meant, though. Losing one, win the rest to advance. I read that as a preliminary group of 4 fighters = 3 fights total. Maybe I´m wrong here?

It doesn't need to be that complex, Ashley in GGGB had also several living choices. I think that Ian will move out either by himself or with some girl because he doesn't want to continue sharing with Perry regardless of their good or bad relationship. At the end it won't be much more different than choosing Ian's room during the beach event.

Pretty weird for a so called summer tournament but who knows .

I'm just thinking that maybe the tournament isn't finished in game. I mean, perhaps we get the Ian/Mike fight for the plot (if Lena is not involved with both Mike and Ian, Ivy has been involved with Mike and told Ian she will go see him fight) and the rest of the tournament is time skipped and the result showed during the epilogue depending on Ian's stats/ending. It's really not that important for the overall story, it's just an amateur tournament, Ian is not going to go pro (maybe Jeremy will in some ending).

Yes that was my really long winded way of saying I don't think we will actually participate in many fights. That fight was considerably complex for a Renpy game and for an AVN in general. I think that update was also among the longest waits we've had for the game.

So again the vibe I'm getting is we are probably only participating in group stage fights and won't actually see the prize money except in maybe an epilogue.
