Nonetheless, recalling Ian's flashbacks and dreams involving Gillian, we don't really get any focus in the partner or partners that she is with, the fact that she is cheating is the traumatic event that causes him pain so it could be attributed to some kind of tunnel vision

Initially when Ian encounters Gillian again and they can sit down to talk, Ian says something along the lines of "you're still with him then?" which gave me the impression that Ian at least knew who her cheating partner and boyfriend is, but that's not necesarily the case.

There's some overleap between what we learn from/about Gillian and Mike and their respective partners, but Lena's brother has been a complete no-show so far, so him turning out to be Gillian's guy would be a pure ass pull, compared to the alternative. So, while not completely impossible, makes it pretty unlikely.

In contrast, Spike only really comes up as a mention that he siphoned Lena's money, mainly an excuse for Lena to have a spat with her mom.
