Let's see, Seymour uses his contacts to ruin any form of work in the entire city, so the options were to sell her life or have no chance of ever working again, which means Lena has to look for anything she can to make ends meet, and let's not forget that all the money she sent to her parents went down the drain because of her brother, and now she needs a lot more for his medical expenses, And to top it off, the rent where she lives is even more expensive. These are things that make her life difficult.You do understand the exact same thing can be said about Lena, right? Seymour can be ignored (or leveraged), Axel can be mostly ignored, the café modeling/drawing gig as well as Stalkfap are narrative hardships but ultimately just game decisions that can be controlled, similarly to Ian's MMA tourney/corporate job (or lack thereof)/book. You can only fuck Lena's life up if you actively choose to, but I'm sure you get the idea.
Now Ian lives with Perry, barely paying rent, he has the option of his father helping him financially, and even if he loses the fighting tournament, it's purely anecdotal, no one's life will be in danger or he won't lose his house for losing it. And it's a book. If you get along with Holly, she helps you a lot to make it look good, and even more so if it's fantasy, and even more so if you go to the book festival, so what's the fucking problem? And losing your job? Frankly, if they hadn't told me, I would never have known that was a fucking possibility, so if you're ruining it, it's not my problem. Bitch.

The café stays running (so live drawing and/or music still is still running, she still has Danny or Stan for photoshoots, Lena also has considerably higher earning potential with Stalkfap, extorting Stan, finessing Danny or using Stan again instead.

What I'm trying to tell you is that you're emphasizing one's hardships over another narratively, focusing on Lena's worst case scenarios and Ian's best ones. In terms of game mechanics, neither are treated differently. In both cases, you can navigate the game pretty much unscathed and coast with good decisions. And Lena having financial problems? Frankly if you hadn't told me, I would never have known that was a fucking possibility, so if you're messing up, it's not my problem. Bitch.

This was probably the strongest point of this update. My pure, faithful, Wits Lena, eventually starting to flirt around. One of the nice surprises of this update.
Why "naturally" ? On the contrary, I found this condition to be absurd.
You should be able to suggest a candidate you are attracted to for a threesome, without having slept with that person before.
There was the same problem in GGGB, when Ash could not suggest anyone for the MFM to Dave if she had not slept with that candidate already. Totally stupid.
Fortunately, it is now rectified,and that is one of the strong point of this update; people who were not an option once, are back to be one.
Even if Lena has not slept with any of them, you can now have four MFM threesomes planned with John, Jeremy, Mike and Anthony. This is unexpected and I am pleasantly surprised.
Still, the fact that it has not happened yet after five fucking years, and above all the fact that Lena's first MFM wil have been without Ian, makes EK absolutely unforgivable.

Normally i would agree, but in these games --given their mostly binary logic-- it is not out of question for the game to make a presumption that if your MC hasn't slept or at least strongly flirted with a person in any of the 12+ chapters so far, then they are not, in fact, attracted to that person. Because otherwise they'd have made some move on them already.
