I won't deny it, that is a very good question.

Axel looks like the ideal partner for Lena, plain and simple.

I do not have any answer for the female characters, as for me Lena - which I play full Wits and non slutty - is perfect.

And yes, I'd pick Axel probably because he's ideally hot for Lena.

But not just that. There is a sophistication to him, you can see in a few moments.

For example, when he interacts with Jeremy, he makes Jeremy look like a walking dick and seems far more sophisticated.

Same when he interacts with Wade, Wade looks like a total loser and Axel does not humiliate him, he keeps his cool.

He is a cheater and probably toxic, I would have liked to see how he handles his relationship with Lena. That's all I can say.

Um...He literally cheated on Lena with a hot model that he was hired as a photographer for. After cheating on her enough times, he decided to nudge the knife deeper by getting Lena into threesomes.

The rule of thumb is: if he cheated on you once, he'll cheat on you again. And the fact that Axel makes moves on Cindy despite Lena having sex with him and 'reconnecting'...Well. It doesn't sound like he actually intends on being a good partner to her.

And yes, yes...ik. They're not together anymore. But if he planned to get back together with Lena, why is he screwing around with someone else? Not exactly helping his case. Not to mention he's an example of actual "toxic masculinity" that people sometimes throw around. As in, an actual clear cut example of it. Jeremy might be a sleazy, cocky cockroach, but at least he's not a controlling or toxic freak about it, just like Ian.

With Axel as a MC its most likely a power fantasy of a privileged scumbag fucking every girl he sees, which isn't exactly original.

The only avenue is if you start with him as dick, but the consequences of his actions snowball on him and self realization and regret leads to redemption and improvement, trying a long term and stable relationship. Finding out why he is the way he is and how to change himself. Mostly an expansion of Jacks arc in GGGB.

Frankly, Ian is serviceable enough to fulfill any wish. Zero to hero? Overcoming hie depression? Working towards a healthy relationship or just becoming a chad? Or downspiraling the cuck path? No need for someone like Axel, who has less avenues.

I see some women here occasionally fawning over Axel or Wade, mainly cuz the characters are good looking and there's a 'I can fix him' angle that I guess is prevalent in female romance or whatever. Wade wakes up from his dreams of turning pro and shakes off the fat belly and Axel just... Stops being Axel while still looking like Axel.

But that aside... Axel is just an abusive jackass. Sure he can look good next to Jeremy whose sole purpose is being a walking penis or Wade whose designed to be a wanna pro-gamer weedman that gets dumped, but that's a hella low bar.

You've got a point, especially as we will never see how EK could have exploited Axel.

And yet...

I won't deny it, Axel kindda reminds me of myself in my prime, I have made the mistakes he has made, and I have lost a girl that looked pretty much like Lena under similar circumstances. I know that he really loves her, just in a very bad fashion, and I know he wished he was better and he just can't, I have fought against similar demons until my forties.

Ian is not bad. But honestly, I play Ian's POV in skipping mode, automatically. I play for Lena.

Idk where it happened but I'm pretty sure that path was supposed to be in game for Axel but got scrapped. I recall Lena meeting Axel at the café having fairly different convos than it does now

Out of curiosity, why in the quiet almighty fuck would you want to play as Axel? Genuine question.

How do you approach the male POV when you play ORS and what would make you want having Axel over Ian (or any other potential male character for that matter) as your male MC?

This also makes me think of something else... Why ain't nobody tryna play as Alison, Emma or any other female character?

There's some cheap ass AI slop knockoff where you play as Cindy... So is the standard for great MCs just "look as conventionally hot as physically possible"?

It's impossible to find a FMC game where a woman looks like a normal regular woman.
