I see where you're coming from, but actually it's a bit different: I try to get my wits vanilla Lena to be as realistic as possible, and I think she'd fall for it.
Don"t get me wrong: in my main playthrough Axel does not exist, Lena falls for Ian and doesn't even call Aexel, full stop.
Yet, I kept a save where Lena is on the Axel path, because it just looks more realistic to me.
