Jack is open about wanting to keep it casual with the girls he meets, doesn't lie about having feelings for them, knows how to take no for an answer, and never pushes them to do anything they don't want to.
Pretty much the opposite of Axel in most aspects, all they have in common is they're both handsome jacked rich playboys, but personality wise Axel is a manipulative sociopath.
Jack is honest, if not cruel about him, Axel is two-face and pretending to be a supportive person.
Jack does push hard and is visible pissed off and angry if he is refused. He doesn't respect relationships at all. He has no qualms seducing a drunk Eva, just because Ashley wants to insult her, then publishing them having sex, sending the link straight to her boyfriend - anonymously, so much for being open about it.
There is no disrespect, the man looks fine AF, like a modern Adonis
That is an overarching theory. Some time in the past, someone, somewhere hurted them and as a consequence they became the same kind of asshole. But why preserve this cycle of pain? And who was the original jerk? And what about those of us who were assholes for completely different reasons, do we get worse or just vibe?
In Axel's case, he was spoiled materialistically and probably neglected emotionally. You may think someone as empa(the)tic and considerate as Lena would have changed him. She very likely tried and reached out to him, but he either didn't or couldn't changed and doubled down on being abusive. And did he learn from his lesson? No.
Not the person I would pity. He is in a situation to get out and he decides not to and continues being a self serving prick.
