Is ORS JMOD the "installer"? Because when clicking on it, it just asks me what I want to open it with. And the ORS exe just sends me to an error.

Oh, i just noticed that such a nice mod exist. Sorry, even if this game is really slightly better than most of other unplayable crap which grow in number on this site, but tbh I find the original game too boring, with a lot of logicless scenario ways, too wrong motivated and unnatural character's behaviours, even for porn novel, and found many other technical reasons to not to have enough interest or patience to replay it for several times. But if that gallery mod works am just curious to figure out - to how little alternative scenes all that ammount of fake or not evident choices in dialogs actually leads. Could someone tell me - when it will be possible to 1st time check the mod in currently actual version for not patreons, please?

I can just guess that when you installed the v0.7 of the mod over v0.8 of the game - you was playing it untill last chapter and made saves. So, when you reinstalled the game v0.8 without the mod - you was trying to load from saves which were made in the game v0.8 with old 0.7 mod. So my guess is that that saves are uncompatible with the original game's format of saves. I guess the only chance for you is to wait for updated v0.8 of the mod and try to continue with your saves after that.
But if you willing to play just the original game - try to delete old saves in C:\Users\[your_windows_account_name]\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\RedString-1574621830 and start a new game. Take in attention that appdata is a hidden folder, so you need to switch a folder's option to see hidden ones or simply type manualy \appdata in adress string in the end, after your account's name in that string. GL HF.

Just a bit more patience then, it's normal that it goes live first for patreons :)

Great mod btw thanks JohnDupont , makes the replayability much more enjoyable (y)
Thanks.

Although forward compatibility is important, due to the changes made to the game in 0.8, I'm not going to solve this issue. Perform a clean install with the new version of the mod when you can.

Performing a clean install of 0.8A and 0.7BETA mod results in the below error:

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

Before loading the script.
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'display_notify'

Full traceback:
File "renpy/bootstrap.py", line 326, in bootstrap

notify = renpy.exports.display_notify
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'display_notify'

Any ideas to fix?

Have you added also the update renpy folder or only the mod folder?

Is there an uninstall option for this mod? I think it broke my saves as I can no longer load any saves with the mod. Tried loading a 0.7 modded save with 0.8 and it didn't work so I downloaded an unmodded version of 0.7 and I can't load 0.7 modded saves (if that mess makes any sense lol).
It says:
While running game code:
File "renpy/common/00action_file.rpy", line 452, in __call__
renpy.load(fn)
Exception: Couldn't find a place to stop rolling back. Perhaps the script changed in an incompatible way?

Sorry what? I freshly unzip OurRedString-v0.8ALPHA-pc. Then within that folder I unzip ORS JDMOD 0.7BETA - PC. Then I run the .bat file. That doesn't work and I get the above string.

I've also done all the above and after running the .bat file I've copied and replaced the "renpy" folder within the JDMOD JDMOD+RenpyUpdate over the Original renpy folder for OurRedString. That doesn't work either.

are you planning on releasing the V.8 of the mod?
They already have, for their patrons. Will be updated here after a little while.
Hey JohnDupont , thank you for this amazing mod. One question; Can we have an estimated date for public release?

Last time I updated this thread early, it got deleted. Sorry if it isn't up-to-date...

Saves aren't compatible between modded and unmodded versions.

The mod is forward compatible and will switch to the unmodded version automatically upon reaching the end of the modded content.
You can also switch manually from one version to the other at the start of each Chapter:
FAQ - Save compatibility.png

The save name used to indicate either it was made on the modded version or not but I had to change it when I added the save description and didn't find a way to bring it back.

It's because I got the same error when I used the Update folder. Next time I simply copied the JMOD folder into the game folder and it worked smoothly

For people that are having problems with running 0.7beta with the ORS 0.8 ver, copy the JDMOD FOLDER TO THE folder named game and dont touch the installer, there is some file in the renpy folder that causes the crash I am not sure which one as I didnt really check but this is only a temporary solution till JD releases the new mod(its already up for patreons if you are in a hurry)
