    Review of v2.39

Out of touch is a game that suffer from many flaws, that at first may not seem a big deal, but when you play it as a full game and try to rethink about it all, it kinda start to collapse.
Because even if this game has rightfully great moments, it is also constellated by some annoying parts that made me wish the game was made in another way.

To start off, the writing, it’s hit or miss, especially when it tries to combine generic anime harem tropes and internet jokes, not to talk about the serious moments.
The shift of tones is baffling most of the times, (The prologue literally made me quit the game, the first time).
When it tries to do humor, it actually succeds sometimes but then it’s striken down by recurring jokes or unfunny ones.
Dialogues tries to force you to care for its characters, that most are cardboard but sometimes they actually succeed at making some great dialogues or interesting personalities that make me invest for a few minutes, then Jamie comes in.
Also the prospective shift for characters that aren’t the MC are pointless or infuriating.

Then we arrive at the plot, and I must honestly say, that it was enjoyable if you turn your brain off, batshit crazy and unpredictable at times, if you ignore the awful moments and just go with the flow you can clearly have a good time.
But just don’t think or consider some characters as good writing, if not the thing crumbles.
And in fact it crumbled multiple times, for the non sensical explanations dumps or when it tries to be too serious.

Also it’s kinda of a kinetic novel, with some exploration parts very weak and a combat that isn’t really developed but it’s enough developed to annoy you or kill the mood left.

And as for the sex scenes, they are few, and honestly they could also been one and I would have not cared, because if you are playing this game, you aren’t going to play it for the sex scenes, you are playing for the plot and characters… but that’s what I would have said if everything was so engaging to make me enjoy the last part, sadly it isn’t.
Sex scenes are what you get, they haven’t emotional power enough to make it great and they aren’t good enough to enjoy yourself, they are just there, as a reminder that it’s also a harem game.

Music is actually great, I quite enjoy it, and models and graphics are above average, the lighting is used in great ways.
The visuals are one of the best parts.

    And that’s it.
I don’t recommend it, but you can check for yourself and maybe some will find their next time killer or favorite game, but for me it was the exact opposite.

I'm a lurker, don't really post on here. This game is good enough to warrant a review. Story is good enough in my opinion that I'd rather fap to something else and be stone sober just so I can pay attention to the story more.

Keep it up Dev, its great.

I just finished the game up to chapter 33 and I gotta say GODDAMN it's good this is the type of game that makes you sit in one place and play for hours and think it's only been 30 min(I spent 5 hours in one sitting I was hungry asf and thirsty didn't feel it during my playthrough it's that good) the story is a 5* the, the character designs is a 5* and pacing is amazing the only few draw backs I have is the cuts can get a bit much in some scenes and I would love some smoother animations for the snusnu and more poses but I'm just greedy;), thank you Anon for making such an amazing experience.

I was expecting a superficial anime porn and got a really nice story with deep characters, perspective changes, suspense and emotions. Out of Touch manages to be silly and very serious at the same time.

The combat system is annoying though.

This game is an absolute fucking trip.

I tend to skip through dialogue a lot in text-heavy VN games like this one, and tend to not like games that take their time to get to lewd stuff... but not this one. I don't know how many hours I've spent in this game, probably 20-30+ at this point, just because of the story.

It's weird as fuck, from the first scene with CJ's dad to all the supernatural stuff going on, and it's absolutely amazing. And the weird parts aren't even why i'm interested in this game, but the characters themselves. Shit's just too damn real; My life hasn't been the best, and all these characters are very relatable to me, their stories are being told very well, everyone's absolutely fucked up with an unhealthy dose of trauma sprinkled in here and there and yet this game is one of the most fucking wholesome things I've ever seen, which makes it all the better. It reminds me of all the people that care about me, that people care even if it doesn't seem so obvious, even if it feels like they shouldn't, even if we hide ourselves from those around us.

It takes a while to get to the sex scenes, but they rapidly ramp up in frequency once they start in a way that all makes sense in the story. They're awesome, i love the look of the girls and the relationships between all the characters. At this point I'm hooked for the story and the wholesomness that overshadows all the trauma, and the orgies are just a great bonus.

    This is something really good.
I didn't excepting the this story be so good.
The combat system really need a change.
Maybe the system of cancelling the commands issued would improve this fight a little.
A good game. Not mindless compilation of sex scenes.
    Awaiting more.

Great game with memorable characters. Always look forward to updates!

I always have a sense of dread when a developer decides to do a reboot or change game engines. This is one of the few examples where there was nothing lost.

Dedicated developer deserves support and praise.

One of the best visual novels I've ever read. It's up there with such giants as AI: The Somnium Files and 999. I barely believed it to be indie for a while because of how good the story is, how good the art looks and so on.
It's full on anime, as all good things are, with a lot of drama, action and comedy that comes at you like a bitch slap. I can't tell you how many scenes have been serious like and then the game bitchslaps you with a joke that makes you burst out laughing.

The title also always makes me sing Out of Touch by Hall and Oates which is a big bonus as well.

Such a fun game! I don't think I've ever played a VN that has been as entertaining as this. The character development is incredible, the music is top tier (fucking LOVE synth wave/vaporwave) , the quality of the character models and environments is amazing, and there is SO much content for folks just starting (34 chapters right now!). I'm mad I never saw this earlier. This is EASILY in my top 3. Can't wait for future updates.

This game has been amazing so far! I really can't put a fault in the way it was created! I like the story concept and its direction as well. The theme is right up my alley with its supernatural tone mixed up with casual comedy. The characters in the story are amazing, I was easily drawn to then due to their personalities and looks. Also the visuals of this game have been very good thus far. Overall a very good game so far, worth the time especially if you enjoy a story driven game.

Tried playing thinking this is another cheap harem game. I was wrong. And I am so glad to be wrong. This is a LEGIT game that I'm gonna be following very closely from now on. Before I even realized it, I spent two days only playing this until I was up-to-date. Already can't wait for future updates.

This is one of the best stories I have experienced. Sure it's a harem but I feel like in this case it's a positive.

The visuals (and girls not gonna lie at all) got me interested at first. It had me hooked with chad in the sky and at that point I thought that it's going to be a funny self-aware game with memes galore. Maybe with some seriousness sprinkled in here and there.

HO BOY. How wrong can you be. How dare you pluck my heart strings like that. You made me shed tears. I wasn't prepared. The story is seriously good. The character development is seriously good. That's not to say the fun went away because it's still very much there and the contrast between the funny and the serious moments makes it all the better.

And damn, the visuals. I don't own Koikatsu so I've got no idea how much of it is that and how much is post processing but I guess it doesn't matter. What does matter is how they complement the rest and that they do very well. The same could be said of the soundtrack. It's not something I would have listened to on its own but here? I can't imagine it being anything else. It just fits. Perfectly.

As for negatives I...can't really point out anything major. As a small nitpick I could note there are no auto saves as far as I can tell. No big deal but I always tend to play for hours and get so immersed in the story I forget to save.

To summarize: This game is a definite 5/5. A story with both serious and lighter moments, characters that have actual character coupled to great visuals and a banging soundtrack. I'm so happy I found this game.

This is literally the first game I've ever reviewed in this site, after playing through atleast 50 games from here... This shit is good, like, real good. (It's not a fapfest, It's an actual good game with amazing characters) At first the aesthetic made me almost skip it but oh boy am I glad I didnt', spent a whole day on it, so good that I was just wanting to see where to plot drove me next, the H scenes were almost annoying me with how enthralled I was by the story, ALMOST, the characters are sweet so yo do enjoy when you finally do stuff with them. Might be the first game to make me consider getting a banner too, even tho I never even comment on anything.. That's the best compliment I can give it, actually, It's so good it made me come out from my eternal lurking.

(I've played through some gems in this site, so I'm not saying anything lightly)

I love the Graphics style, i loved the story, i love the memes.
It's really great, it really is.
This, in my opinion is one of the GOAT's like Katawa Shoujo, FET, WVM and so on.

This game isn't just a game to beat your meat to, you can do that sure, but i 100% guarantee you, you will be more satisfied with the character development, the story unfolding and the as i said, lovely art style.

Please, please give it a try and show Story Anon how much we appreciate a PROPER, fun, beautiful nsfw-game.

I'd rather only play this for the rest of my life then half of the games some people upload on here.

I HATE THIS GAME. I haaaate this game so much. Not in the same way you normally would hate something. Because the game is SO GOOD. But as a porn game it's sooo god damn annoying because there's so much good dialogue and story that it stops you from actually skipping it to the "good part" thus me losing the "urge" I feel whenever I do decide to play games on this website. So it makes for a bad porn game BUT at the same fucking time the actual porn on it is also really freaking good that it still makes for an extremely good porn game when you actually get to the porn. The problem is getting to it since the story is actually legit good and now I'm just repeating what I already said.

Amazing game, I hate it and I love it at the same time. I have never had so much mixed feeling from a game before. But still gets 5 stars from me.

After spending about 3 weeks in Out of Touch I think It's perfect time to write a review.

Most AVNs are narrated from protagonist's point of view for better immersion which makes you feel surrounded by love from bunch of hotties. Out of Touch is absolutely different case. Still remaining focused on MC (yeah, yeah, harem game, keep it your mind) OoT expands the narration across multiple (all?) LIs. And it's fucking awesome! It kills twothreefour birds with one short: A) Filling the plot; B) Characters development; C) Relationship development; D) More hot renders with hot girls. Well, it can prevent you putting yourself in the place of the protagonist, but... Why you should?

Such a concept requires some effort in writing to keep it all together and hold your attention. And yeah, Story Anon is really good at this. Conversations between characters, characters internal monologues, exclamations and bawdry. All of this make story alive. I've also noticed that, particularly, the Volume 1 has several keywords: care, belong, family. CJ used the family word so many times that I wanted to open game files and rename him to Dom Toretto. But honestly, I enjoyed this NLP.

Not only words tell you a story. The graphic part does it too. Renders are made in Koikatsu, but I've never seen such camera work and image post-processing in AVNs before. These camera angles and visual effects have important part in storytelling too. Out of Touch really looks like a psychedelic movie or anime.

Sweet renders should have sweet girls. So, they are. Finally, Koikatsu-based game with 18yo girls, who LOOK LIKE 18 YO! And they are different! Cute little girls I LOVE LEAH, extra THICC girls I LOVE LEAH, girls with strong back muscles I LOVE LEAH, and well-balanced girls but my heart belongs to Cro.

Besides appearance, all girls have likeable and different characters (with one common thing). Well, maybe some of them are over-dramatic, but if we dig deeper into their story we can find the reason.

What about story, Mark? Well, game overview says that Out of Touch is something between melodramatic teen comedy, psychedelic thriller and existential horror. And it's true. Started from weeb in a good way melodramatic "teen friendship problem, the story goes through deep paranormal thriller with a lot of references to Greek, Celtic or Japanese mythology and after that lands in hot lewd stuff. Someone says, that "initial" part of story is too long. But I totally disagree with that statement. Firstly, a moderate pace of narration helps to develop characters better. Secondly, this "initial' part has a lot of hooks from future events. During my second "playthrough", I've facepalmed myself with a scream HAHA It makes sense now! Moreover, from Volume 1 to newly released chapters the story has picked up pace noticeably. And I feel myself really excited about this.

Lewd stuff? Uhhh... It's not animated, like in the most of AVNs from F95... Ugh, come on, Koikatsu animated sex doesn't have anything special! Animation is replaced with more appreciable things: camera angle, dialogues, visual effects and... music?

Yeah, music! Out of Touch wouldn't be itself without amazing soundtrack. Dope synthwave and catchy future funk tracks arranged in their right places. Original soundtrack... I cannot find words to describe how awesome it is. LI themes fit their characters perfectly. Aine theme... Tears are still welling up when it plays in my mind. But it's not about sadness. It's about... I dunno... Delight?

For now the only thing I regret is turn-based combats. It should be presented more. Boss fights will be a great addition to story. And game script has a lot of insertions connected with combat system.

What should I say in conclusion? Play Out of Touch! By Story Anon and Snow

When I played this I had no idea what to expect but hour after hour that I played I became more and more enamored with it. It takes a bit to get into the real meat of the story but when it does it's something incredible.

The characters are all really likeable too and it does a good job making each of their situations and conflicts interesting and meaningful. I never thought I'd be able to point at big-titty maid triplets and be like "yeah really like them" in way other than just being sexy.

Also some pretty cool music, Aine's theme escpecially.

And finally I love pseudo-spiritual vibe of this game that's infused with just about every aspect of it, it's just got a really unique *feel* to it.

An indie ero VN with a goofy premise made me cry twice in the span of a few chapters 10/10

That's all anyone needs to know but I will continue with details below:

    - Music
The music in this game is top notch, I can not stress enough how good the tracks in this game are at establishing mood in a given scene. The scarier scenes especially are more intense than you would find in some dedicated horror VNs(on the crowdfunded indie market at least).

    - Writing
The writing is good, it has propper peaks and valleys between lightharted and intense, emotional moments. It also builds suspense very effectively.

    - Plot
A bit on the thick side, it's fair to say that for now it's a bit obtuse because it's building mistery but I'd be sad if this never stops, continuing to stack lore untill it suffocates.
The quality of the writing and the fact that so far the plot has been internally consistent with no glaring holes makes me hopefull but having become so invested in these characters I can't help but worry as well.

    - The h scenes
You won't find me complaining that they're not animated or that kind of stuff, they're good because they're vehicles for character development and because they flow naturally into story beats. They have the right kind of effort put into them exactly where it counts.

    - Characters
Looking past the fact that they all want to fuck their only male companion, the friendship between the characters is very well grounded, the way they react to the drama and conflict that surrounds them is believable.
The designs themselves are cute and the characters emote well in scenes.

Out of Touch - A truly unique game

I'll be honest this was a game that I didn't see coming. I went into it thinking it would be a the usual harem game with a male protagonist that can do no wrong and every just accepts the harem idea as just common. I WAS WRONG!!!

OoT is fun ride that feels real, despite the occult parts. The characters may at first seem stereotypical, but when the story really starts going, you realize this isn't a quick flaw fix. It dives deep into the psyche of trauma and shows that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

But don't get me wrong, there is plenty of levity as well. Fourth wall breaks, silly moments, and a very oblivious hero make for some great moments. Also a quick FYI, at the end of every volume, do the recap. It is absolutely hilarious.

The part that I can say threw me off was the narration style. If you are like me, you are used to one narrator, usually the protagonist or a single third person. It was a different experience here, with all the characters trading off POV narration. To be honest when that first showed up around chapter 3 or so I thought that I was dealing with another mislabeled game and almost quit. I am so thankful now that I decided to give it a few more chapters cause the game really started to shine.

If you are tired of playing the same old cookie cutter harem games, want a game with some story, and are willing to explore something new, this is the game for you. If you are looking for a quick fap this is not the game for you.

    Easily a 10 out of 5 stars

Awesome game. Little light on adult scenes but the writing is great and honestly it's just a fun story. Only gripe I have with the writing is that sometimes it feels like the conflict is forced, but then again this also tracks cause most the characters arent the best at talking to eachother.
