Review of v2.39
Out of touch is a game that suffer from many flaws, that at first may not seem a big deal, but when you play it as a full game and try to rethink about it all, it kinda start to collapse.
Because even if this game has rightfully great moments, it is also constellated by some annoying parts that made me wish the game was made in another way.
To start off, the writing, it’s hit or miss, especially when it tries to combine generic anime harem tropes and internet jokes, not to talk about the serious moments.
The shift of tones is baffling most of the times, (The prologue literally made me quit the game, the first time).
When it tries to do humor, it actually succeds sometimes but then it’s striken down by recurring jokes or unfunny ones.
Dialogues tries to force you to care for its characters, that most are cardboard but sometimes they actually succeed at making some great dialogues or interesting personalities that make me invest for a few minutes, then Jamie comes in.
Also the prospective shift for characters that aren’t the MC are pointless or infuriating.
Then we arrive at the plot, and I must honestly say, that it was enjoyable if you turn your brain off, batshit crazy and unpredictable at times, if you ignore the awful moments and just go with the flow you can clearly have a good time.
But just don’t think or consider some characters as good writing, if not the thing crumbles.
And in fact it crumbled multiple times, for the non sensical explanations dumps or when it tries to be too serious.
Also it’s kinda of a kinetic novel, with some exploration parts very weak and a combat that isn’t really developed but it’s enough developed to annoy you or kill the mood left.
And as for the sex scenes, they are few, and honestly they could also been one and I would have not cared, because if you are playing this game, you aren’t going to play it for the sex scenes, you are playing for the plot and characters… but that’s what I would have said if everything was so engaging to make me enjoy the last part, sadly it isn’t.
Sex scenes are what you get, they haven’t emotional power enough to make it great and they aren’t good enough to enjoy yourself, they are just there, as a reminder that it’s also a harem game.
Music is actually great, I quite enjoy it, and models and graphics are above average, the lighting is used in great ways.
The visuals are one of the best parts.
And that’s it.
I don’t recommend it, but you can check for yourself and maybe some will find their next time killer or favorite game, but for me it was the exact opposite.
